Basically, I was looking for a phone with the following features:
- It should not be a toy with multimedia Schickimicki touchscreen Poser equipment
- Robust, it must be
- The keys have to be worthy of the name
- Bluetooth so that it harmonizes with my Navi + Com system on motorcycle
Things offers the mobile and beyond still many features which I would describe as "nice-to-have" call.
For phone:
Feel / look:
The phone holds by the material properties (rubber-like) very pleasant and exudes solidity, as I have experienced to last at Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the early 90s.
At first I had slight doubts about the alleged indestructibility of mobile phones. Meanwhile, I am convinced that you can drive away with the car over it, without doing the part of some evil.
By the way ... I'm glad I took the red. Looks and worlds class better than me at all known images.
Processing:
In one word: Perfect. Nothing is loose, nothing rattles, nothing creaks. The cover of the battery / SIM / microSD compartment is perfectly solved. The locking of the cover is done by means of a solid metal screw that can only be opened with the help of a coin.
Nevertheless, the cover is easy to open, since the metal screw has been designed so that the Last piece of rotation is used to slightly lift the lid.
The keyboard offers a clear pressure point, and despite the continuous key mat, with no gaps between the keys, the necessary operating forces are absolutely ok.
Functionality:
Everything available, which one would have five years ago still licked their fingers. MP3 player, radio, camera, internet, Bluetooth ... wen it further interested in the easy times to try the Samsung homepage ;-)
Service:
Even for me as a long-term Sony Ericsson users a book with seven seals. The menus are logical when nested in some places somewhat.
Write to SMS brauchts three button clicks over at Sony Ericsson. There are worse things, as these three clicks are always done with the same key.
Bluetooth worked without difficulty both in connection with my laptop as well as my Navi and my Bluetooth headset (Cardo Scala-Rider) in the helmet. The perfect solution, thank Samsung :-)
Equipment / Delivery
Here I am at the point where I pull a star. Why? Very easily:
1. The included user manual is a joke. There are explained only rudimentary functions. Not even the keyboard layout can be found anywhere. I have to find about half an hour spent at the point and find out ... out playing rather how to teach the phone unfamiliar terms. If you have it then found me, it is easily solved and very smart. Nevertheless, include such things in the manual.
2. The headset could be from the 1-Krambox an x-arbitrary weekly market-haberdashery dealer originate. That would not even so tragic. But unfortunately, the headset is not to connect via standard jack with the phone but by Samsung own multiplug. Thus it is out to use other than a Samsung headset.
Conclusion:
A top cell phone at an unbeatable price. But I would like 20 or 30 pay more for it if it is a decent headset and a useful manual would be doing.
But, that's whining at a high level and I would recommend this phone to anyone.
********* Supplement after 15 months use **********
After the faulted in a commentary that I wrote the recession without "long-term test," I want to REPLACE this "endurance test" for now 15 months - even if there is no change to the original recession.
I'm still very happy with the phone and I'll add the things that I think is worth mentioning in brief:
+ Mobile phone had been Nocht no failures, no problems with the software. All the best
+ Display has no scratches, even though I do not use protective film and the phone do not treat with care
+ Battery still holds 2 weeks (but am also infrequent users)
+ Housing has no signs of use, although it is in no one cell phone pocket, and I like it in the briefcase / Door Storage / tank bag / backpack / ... "throw"
+ Bluetooth operating in the car without problems, connection works 100%
- Display is too small
- When the sun shines, the display is virtually impossible to read
I can not find much negative to the phone so because it's what I ask of a mobile phone, 100% fulfilled.
Because of the rather suboptimal displays I stay at the 4 stars.
