Lest this also my review for Garmin 3590LMT.
Once I had decided to give the Garmin back, I opted for the Becker Professional 50 LMU.
Today, the new Becker Professional 50 LMU came with me.
After a first short test over scarce 10km I can say it's better than the Garmin stuff.
First the Äuserlichkeiten.
About Taste is well known, do not argue, and so also the Becker makes a good impression. It is perhaps not quite as fancy as the high-gloss Garmin and it is also a few mm thick, but it feels good in hand and looks neat. The weight is about the same, and 5 ", the display is the same size. However, it is an anti-reflective display which can be seen significantly better than the Garmin. Fingerprints can also be seen at Becker, but not so on the fall and are easy to wipe away ,
The charging cable is also simultaneously the TMC antenna and is much thinner than in Garmin. Nor is there a TMC receiver box in the cable.
A nice touch is the small Velcro cable ties is on the charging cord. This makes it possible to bind together well the cable for the purpose of transport.
That's just a little thing, but support the good impression. Garmin had something not fact.
The operation is also here clearly and largely self-explanatory.
Navigation is good and quickly finds a route, and the satellite. Here I would say a tie.
The Navi-votes are the Becker device but a lot more comfortable and speak more fluid and not so choppy and command default as with Garmin.
The speed limit is displayed as a traffic sign and is much better to capture than Garmin. The speed warning can be adjusted with two tolerance ranges for city and highway. UNF begins not already from 1km / h too much to be nervous.
The map display is overall not as colorful as Garmin, which had almost Comikhafte representation.
The lane assistant fades in when you need it and presents itself like one would expect from Navigon.
The colors are different, but the representation is to detect similar and good.
So far, I see the Becker my biggest criticisms that have led me to return the Garmin as resolved on.
More I can not write when I'm done with the map updates and configuration.
After that there's still ne larger test drive.
EDIT:
So, final verdict after extensive test drive:
The Becker Professional 50 LMU remains!
It is the best alternative for ex Navigon users.
The most important things are already in the first part of this review.
In addition to me now is still positive noticed that this device a separate real on off switch has.
Something has me even missing at Navigon.
Navigation is super. Even the voice input works great.
Although the recognition is slightly slower than the Garmin, but the recognition is great.
In addition to the speed signs and other important signs as overtaking, play streets are displayed etc and signaled acoustically. The audible alarms are never intrusive or annoying.
Speeding are even indicated by voice prompts.
The active support is great and the device can be found quickly and easily replace.
In the moment, I am very satisfied.
From me there for Becker Professional 50 a clear DAUEM HIGH !!!
