Class part - Great idea - typical AVM

I have two pieces of this DECT 200 in use since 2013, mainly for long-term recording in the fridge and for measuring other devices. In one of the outlets me eventually fell to a high-frequency hum / beeping. The other box is silent. With a fairly accurate gauge I have the self-consumption of the DECT 200 measured.

This box uses DECT radio technology. There are similar devices, but the work with Wi-Fi. Ie the information to run with the other products on the IP network and thus u. U. also (without being asked) over the Internet! This creates a danger of manipulation by third parties, as soon as there is a vulnerability in the network or even in the firmware of an IP socket.
Therefore, the DECT solution of AVM seems to me to be a better choice, because here the understanding only occurs between the can and the Fritz box and the DECT technology regardless of the Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) works. If you really want to control the home devices from outside via a smartphone on the Internet, which can indeed do (AVM has created the possibility), but so is the network home basically more vulnerable, especially since most Android (Google) I think everything else is as a secure operating system.

Meanwhile, here is a refrigerator with the DECT200 is controlled after the thermostat is no longer working properly, ie "it sticks" and the unit cools and cools and cools ... until someone even slightly suggests the housing. Repair of the refrigerator? Too expensive!

Interference sources be ever inferior, as well as WLAN. So do not write immediately "Nothing sch ... part", but put more patience in the day and try to isolate the problem and its cause.

And yes, natürlch may be times of a defect in the device. There are warranty and guarantee. So complain, get replacement unit and well. Unlike another buyer here, I certainly had no problem with it, move with the DECT200 of a Fritz box (7320) to another (7490). Simply re-coupled - is running!

I use a variety of products from AVM for over 10 years and am still amazed that the manufacturer knows how to bring together ideas and quality. Many other manufacturers' products to remain halfway. This is not or not the work or the unit is too complicated. AVM contrast shows again and again how to do it right and I'm curious to see what a great instrument they think up next.
