I use the Cullmann magnesite 525 with a Manfrotto 494RC2 ball head and a Canon EOS 5DMII. No problem with the load capacity (except probably docked with a long bag of Luxuryklasse).
Easy to use, simple clip system and really clean processing. Just short enough to make it to strap on the backpack or get into a suitcase and just light enough. But stability weighs just. There is no way around it. I'm 1.82m tall and the tripod it creates that I can carry the camera at a height just above my eyes. A relaxed working so if the tripod is fully extended. Can only recommend the magnesite, only the tripod head also must be level still be chosen with care, then you have your full enjoyment of the tripod.
