At the same time I had a Walimex Pro Striplight 25x90 for compact Blitzer here - and have the Walimex returned. Why - where it has but 50% more surface area and is 10 euros cheaper? (That was the reason why I had originally actually placed on the Walimex ...):
a) Because the Walimx with compact flashes in fact not harmonize properly - the flash bracket is so long that it blocks the Neiger, unless you flash through Funkauslöser etc. increased so that the rail remains above the Panhead. Too bad. A Flex would have helped, but the product is supposed to work all right.
At Firefly, however clever solved - the flash bracket is reversible and by a two-track system, it never comes down to such "Verklemmern".
b) Because the Walimex is probably meant more for the permanent studio construction (and for that but it is then certainly very, very great, because very valuable !!), because you have to handle with many individual parts, ie threading the individual rods of the screen and Insert. That's nothing for people with "temporary" home studio or desire for frequent outdoor use.
Why am I writing all this? Because it has taught me to appreciate the Firefly. Valuable and clever built, this very light and handy. Best, really. For this you pay gladly times a few euros more.
In contrast, however, the tip for all those who have a stationary studio: the Walimex Pro is super structured, strong, robust material, heavy ring, etc. Everything seems built to last. Only: nix for Compact Cameras or up / degraders.
NOTE: Even with me the manual for another Firefly softbox was - perhaps there are no specifically for this Striplight? No matter - everything is always self-explanatory.
