*** *** Experience:
Now I have had similar experiences:
(I have heard of PC hardware actually no idea, so I apologize if I explain seemingly self-evident)
In my PC there was a WD6400 hard drive (which I thought due to a noise that they gave up the ghost). With this docking station I ordered a WD10EZEX larger 1TB as the "old" hard drive.
I have the "old" hard drive then expanded (before pictures taken on the installation location) and then I gave myself to it, to copy all data from the "old" to the "new" hard drive. With this docking station in stand-alone mode. The goal was the new disk instead of the old built into the PC without my having to make any driver changes, software licensing, email multiple-access, etc..
At first I had a little difficulty in understanding the operation of the device, as well as the instructions are in English only. The path I trod was the following:
- Device switched off,
- To copy SATA hard drive in slot A,
- The recipients hard drive in slot B,
- Then turn on device,
- Both bay lights are yellow / orange,
- Now I pressed the CLONE button for about 3 seconds,
- After releasing briefly flashed the 100% light fitting on blue,
- Shortly afterwards (1 sec) later I pressed (not very short, but clearly about 0.5 sec -1 sec) again the CLONE button. (On a previous attempt, I pressed them very very short and it did not work)
- Now begins the 25% light fitting to blinking blue (a sign for me that it might work)
- After about 2 hours, it was finally time: all percentages lamps were consistently at,
- I then waited another 30 minutes (for safety's sake) until the green power light in the blink status passed,
- I turned off the device and removed the new hard drive,
- This I built then again .........

Everything works perfectly. Almost as if the old hard disk never been outside. I am very satisfied. What I found (but not very bother me): the new hard drive now has only 640 GB (instead of the maximum design 1TB). Here I will select but suggested by Fragenbeantworter Marcus Steudel) way.

From me the product receives full 5 stars because it (the purpose of hard drive replacement cloning) fulfilled the purpose of desired me quickly and reliably.
