In advance: I have chosen for the shoe, because my big mountain boots (La Sportiva Trango Guide GTX) too heavy for this project, were too bulky and above all warm and I comfortable and via ferrata suitable shoes for a combined climbing and walking by up needed to 8 hours (the maximum climbing time was about 4 hours).
The shoes I ordered in shoe size (with me 43), fits well and is not too small, the long downhill walking the toe abuts easy Ferrata of thought and feel the rock is, however, with me in the foreground.
Despite Gore-Tex I emfinde the shoe in any way too stiff, it is very convenient, but the sole is stiff enough for smallest Vorsprünge- Also friction climbing is no problem, even a C / D-location that the rain too D / E tended, was easily!
Also at 30 min Ascent 4 hours climbing time and 3 hours descent (Che Guevara - a 1400m wall) was the shoe still very comfortable and not too hot and is recommended as well as a lightweight hiking shoe.
The lacing keeps me what it promises (though I also use a thermally adapted to my foot insole - but also the "normal" insole SALEWA very well formed - I have tried on the first day).
I have the shoe perceived very positively by these 6 ferrata days and may this in my view all ferrata Freaks for warm climes recommend without hesitation (I can even imagine these to wear on warm days in the high mountains, if there is no snow on the route is - provided man comes without high shaft cope).
Conclusion: A very good shoe ferrata with great features, very suitable for people with narrow feet - which sometimes want to climb a D-riser with smooth, worn rock, without having to use climbing shoes, but also have long supply and descents. Strong buy recommendation!
PS:. At 4 hours in the rain, however, helped uach not Gore-Tex more (because the water ran clear through the soaked socks :-(; so I had on the last day but rely on my climbing shoes) The shoes were for a sunny day but knochentrochen again and could also be easily cleaned.
Addendum October 2012:
After a 10-day vacation in the Werdenfelser Land and Tyrol I have there genacht on a high mountain tours with this shoe (including Innsbruck Via Ferrata and Wankspitze and Lehner and Umhauser waterfall). All Setige were any problems with the shoe; therefore also suitable for high-altitude (when the foot is in the shoe, can kompnsieren the missing high shaft :-))
Even with a 43-km hike on the Rothaarsteig (straight course) of the shoe was very convenient to carry and could be felt by weight ago hardly; there was not a single bubble at least for me. My wife wore the same shoe without Gore-Tex and was also very satisfied.
Of course, the color has become somewhat dirty-yellow, but due to the stress that is surely clear. Damage to the Shuh can be recognized not.
So I can shoe for everyone in the review mentioned activities still recommend!
