This album is one of the best Spiritual Beggars publications at all for me. The disc reminds me after repeated listening heavily to Deep Purple in 1975 with Tommy Bolin / Glenn Hughes / David Coverdale. The Especially the opener "Wise as a Serpent" and "Turn the Tide" would be my opinion in good hands on Deep Purple's "Come Taste The Band". To build on this comparison, so I would say that the work of the Beggars overall has a more Moody atmosphere. However, even radio-elements can be found again, as "One Man's Curs" shows. Of course the stoner rock / metal origin can not hear, but I especially compels me Organ / Keyboard comparing the Purple album straight towards. At the latest with the title "King Maker" you realize that Opeth keyboardist Per Wiberg has understood the basic idea of earthiness and Jon Lords game and this knowledge fully deployed with Spiritual Beggars. Last but not least is the bluesy, powerful voice of "Apollo" Papathanasio, reminded me strongly of David Coverdale. For me, this album is an absolute must for every rock lovers.
