Was looking for a lightweight hiking shoe for low mountains and alpine terrain (boarding & ferrata) with GoreTex membrane, which should replace my old San Marco Swing GTX after has resolved to this the upper. This has succeeded with this shoe. The fit in size 43 corresponds to about a 42.5, the patented (Project Myth) lacing the shoe is highly scalable and sufficiently large. The climate control is perfect (for me with heavily perspiring feet), even in double-digit minus temperatures I had warm feet, with appropriate heat and temperature gradient shoes steaming well off. More robust leather boots are as absolutely nothing for me. The shoe is well crafted and sewn clean, the circumferential rubber bead protects against rough terrain and abrasion, the chamois can be cleaned well. Brush after drying, possibly re-waterproof and well. The Vibram sole is running on hard (anti-shock Planta stylus) substrates very good, downhill (Impact Brake System) with good grip, the climbing zone at the toe is only useful in dry weather, when Feuchtigleit rather not so good. Suitable for easy climbs, but not for crampons (too soft) or snowshoes (too cold). The shoe is waterproof through the membrane, which I can confirm After snowfall and rain. All in all, a worthy successor although I doubt that the lacing holds long as my predecessor shoe. Incidentally, these shoes do not stuff but leave open to air dry. I would buy this shoe again, who studied defects please read the globin reviews to better compare.
