Scope of supply:
-------------
In the box found next to the camera a handy wrist strap, a small USB charger including power cable + USB cable (A separate battery charger is unfortunately not there. Other providers such as Casio show that the better off), a battery with 630mAh capacity , and a huge manual with over 20 translations. What stands out immediately: A Handbook on DVD or additional software are nowhere. For Sony, the software has written directly to the internal memory of the camera, which can be on the PC simply installiren after connecting via USB cable. Since the camera from Sony is a software can also be in the Playstation 3 to download the photos to work on TV.
A handbook is negligible at the Cybershot in my view also, because the camera has unlike its competitors with a built-manual, which is instantaneous browse through the screen of the camera by keyword index. So I did not at first as I was able to adjust the camera's flash. A short click on "B" in the Suggestions -> "Flash" is selected and I had the explanation in mind. And even better: The manual is intelligent. A short press in the instructions and I will get directly to the desired setting. Personally, I find the idea of Super. If I am traveling and I do not have the camera times nich white race to the hotel and the manual rauskramen, special show up quickly in the camera after.
Ergonomics / Design:
----------------
The camera is one thing above all: compact! The processing moves, like Sony usual, at a fairly high Nivau. The front of the camera is made of brushed metal, the back made of high quality plastic. A bit disappointing I find the D-pad. Here cheap plastic was used. Degree in directional pad you are here at Nikon and Co in this class rather chic metal used. What is like that the camera fits comfortably in your hand and all controls are very easy to reach. Something tricky is the zoom button. They ruled initially somewhat sluggish and is something difficult to dose because it is very sensitive from a certain point. Also very sensitive is the release button, set between Scharf and "pull the trigger" requires very little power. This has the disadvantage that it skips quickly mar the focus, but also the advantage that you do not so fixed must press that one begins to wobble when snapping. For me personally here outweighs the positive effect.
Overall, one can say that when you consider how compact the camera, Sony has made in terms of ergonomics his homework.
Operation:
----------
Quite clear who previously Nikon and Canon was accustomed will have to rethink this. The menu is opened very chick compared to other manufacturers, but also results in that you have to navigate through a rather large table full of settings through several screens. Once you become accustomed to the control is going very quickly. Overall, you realize that Sony has become very fixed in WX100B on automatic modes. The camera is in any situation good results deliver without the photographer must also worry. After my previous trial runs, I can confirm that this works quite well. Only as regards the use of the flash, the camera in my opinion is a bit too fussy. In daylight, in the living room in my opinion, no flash is needed. Nevertheless, there was a flash in automatic mode here. Good that you can turn off the flash manually.
Screen:
-----------
The screen dissolves with only 460,800 pixels on (comparable Nikon cameras, the resolution is twice as high. In direct comparison to that of my Earchtens makes quite noticeable, but at 2.7 inches still okay.
Image Quality:
-------------
In direct comparison with a Nikon S8100 camera really delivers very good images. Not spectacular, but at the same Nivau as other camera in this segment where you have to remember that a Nikon S8100 much bulkier than the Cybershot. What surprised me the push. Here the camera provided in high zoom range over 8x still quite sharp results which in my Nikon was Feierabend long.
Video quality:
--------------
AVCHD Full HD, quite useful, in my opinion, is one but still better off with a camcorder for real films. Still a nice complement.
Conclusion:
------
The Sony Cybershot DSC-WX100B is the ideal camera for those who want a camera on vacation while having constantly to make good snapshots in any situation. You can not replace a DSLR, nor a camcorder, but it is compact, simple and make interesting photographs. Only with the zoom lever and the somewhat weak screen Sony would in my view still be able to work something. Nevertheless, strong buy recommendation!
