Now at last could also be assessed the tonal qualities, I have my iPod Classic 160GB (7th Generation) with the DA-10 and my Philips Fidelio L2 connected and was curious. With a normal headphone amplifier, such as the ADL A1 of Furutech, the sound of the ALAC files was pretty neat, especially noticeably louder. Now, however, came to the more volume and pressure some sonic details to light. Especially the bass increased significantly. Perhaps, however, a little too vague. I have the ALAC tracks then heard again in comparison with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in combination with the ADL A1 and realized that here just more space and lightness brought to bear on jazz and vocals. The Denon sound very voluminous, very superficially. The Android-combi fine, brilliant and spatially better staggered. Of course I've heard both vans without equalizer. With appropriate sound EQ adjustments you can make the DA-10 bass effect a little more pleasant safe from Denon.
In the various changes and adjusting the volume on the DA-10, however, I realized at some point that the volume control began to solve again (noticeably to the growing game while turning). So again tightened. After another day again noticeable play. Meanwhile you could on the Aluminum-axis, on the volume knob sits, already recognize bruising of the grub screw. At this point I gave up.
The DA-10 is actually a decent device, even if not sonically superior. Based on other criteria, such as price, processing and accessories I would have given it four stars scarce. But the thing with the volume control has too much frustration and anger out at me. I honestly do not think of a single case, and sincerely hope that DENON here thinking something. This looks badly out by a design flaw. I sent back the unit definitely go back to Amazon and do not hope that my DA 10 via the Amazon Warehouse finds its way to another customer.
