Withings Pulse - Activity Tracking + Sleep Testing + heart rate, Black (Sports)

Customer Review

I have to change before the Fitbit One on the Withings Pulse. The reason is the annual additional costs, problems with various mobile phones (Nexus 4 LG Optimus G, Grade 3 and Nexus 5). None of these devices worked a BT sync. the purchase of the respective phones. For the Nexus 5, there are now a beta with it sparks at that time but I had already changed on the Withings Pulse.
For pulses:

Furnishing / feel:
Device works without problems and the connection with the phone worked well at first. The tracker I like very much by design, the display is quite coarse but dissolved and the writing always seems slightly out of focus. The bracelet for the sleep I find quality than what I had at this one (we'll see how it looks in a couple of weeks / months) The silicone case is similar to (the third is now available from the Fitbit One and I had to replace three times defective, let's see if that keeps the pulses longer)

The app like it way better than that of Fitbit. (Matter of taste) additional features such as Food logs I do not need. But what I lack in the app is the ability to enter sports activities (which can be done with the partner apps, even only partially. Eg .: squash, weight training) I hope there will be retrofitted.

Web portal:

Here the pulses didnt catch much. the Fitbit portal acts thoughtful. The social component is missing from the Pulse yet complete. Let's see if that is after improved.

Sleep measurements:

The sleep measurement seems to me comprehensible than the One. In the one I had always gone step in the night (partly to the 100). But unfortunately, the Pulse has no gentle alarm.

Pulse:

Whether the values are correct, I have not checked yet. The measurement and synchronization, however, has worked in both experiments immediately.

Plus minus:

+ Design and feel
+ Promised battery life
+ Heart Rate Monitor
+ Sleep traceable measurement
+ App
+ Any additional costs such as the One

- Add no Options Features
- Social component is completely absent
- No Gentle Alarm
- Website in need of improvement.

Preliminary Conclusions:

The Pulse looks visually good, has a nice app and with the functions I'm quite happy. Some still missing, but here I just hope to Withings. I'll be wearing the next day both devices and see exactly how they count the steps. At the end I will decide what I use Tracker on. Is the measurement halfway, but I will decide in favor of the pulses, as there are no hidden costs here, my app like better and sleep measurement works correctly.

Conclusion after 5 days:

As seen in the comparisons below, the pulses always counts Weninger as the Fitbit One. I think that the pulses are not enough counts in slow steps, the Fitbit One the other hand, however, steps already registered the slightest movement (while seated). All in all I am very satisfied after the first 5 days. The Fitbit Web interface does not load for days (with all kinds of browsers) my data, there is only charging circuits. The Sync contrast only works with the computer. With my phone I look further through your fingers. The Pulse synct without problems. The scale I've mitterweile also brought and these synct with the Whiting portal, the Fitbit site and my Runtastic portal.
So I feel the Withings universe far better off than at Fitbit. Only a Sync Partner Apps in both directions I still lack. (Eg .: weight training should also be added in the Withings site, so only the weight at runtastic added)

Measurements:

Today I had the device now uses the first full day in operation and have it along with the Fitbit One. In the following days I would therefore like to again compare the values of the two devices.

Day 1:
Pulse: 10,224 Fitbit One: 10,893
Day 2:
Pulse: 12,690 Fitbit One: 13,241
Day 3:
Pulse: 16,326 Fitbit One: 18,343
After three days, so a trend is even apparent. there are fewer and fewer steps than the Fitbit One. On day 3 Even a considerable. Let's see pointed continues. (Who excess or deficiency is one I can not say, because I had not yet come to the idea of counting the day, however. In the test, however, is always the accuracy of the pulse highlighted compared to One)
Day 4:
Pulse: 12,914 Fitbit One: 14,040
Day 5:
Pulse: 8,411 Fitbit One: 10,980

Preliminary final of review / conclusion:

I stopped to compare the two devices. The Pulse has always a trace less counted as the Fitbit One. As written above, I think that the Pulse counts occasionally too little, the One also counts steps when any are made. All in all, I feel better off in Withings universe. The scale also works great. Everything synced great and the data are compared with other applications (if desired). The social effect is almost completely absent, the one needs but not really. The app I like in design even better, and the balance of the data has during the comparison with the pulses clearly works better than the One. (When one could be even one day not synchronizing (both on the PC as well as on the mobile phone, the Sync was probably indeed carried out but the steps were not displayed - but I had this problem in half a year use for the first time)

After a few months use I decided to deduct two stars. The reasons:
-The Battery life has become a joke. After three days, he indicates to me that the battery needs to be charged.
the Fitbit I often casually used still comes from more than a week.
- The Syncronisation takes worlds longer than the Fitbit (with Android and IOS 4.2-4-4 7.0-7.1 tested)
- The Pulse counts on average at least 10% less. With 120,000 steps during the week as often ergbit a difference of at least 12,000 steps.

25.05

I want to be honest .. I'd Wittings the balance is not (with which I am satisfied) would probably rot the thing somewhere.
Actually, I run since I own the Pulse with 2 devices rum (which really is not the point)
This I'm just about at least any statistics in Wittings to have account.
For data collection the thing is not to be used:

- Partial wants to make me this thing knows that I have traveled more than 1,000 meters - Fitbit tells me 10-12 floors
- The Pulse counts each day only 50 (max) 75 percent of what the Fitbit counts. I count myself a little with the Fitbit is very close to reality, the pulses far away
- Battery life worthy of the name does not -> must often invite three times to the Fitbit is empty

I have a little bit hoping for the successor of the fixes the issues. unfortunately has been presented with the bracelet with o2 virtually the same device.

Because I really wanted to turn their backs on Fitbit (annual cost -> Premium) I squint now again to its competitors.

All in all, I am using the pulses become so dissatisfied that I may depart even a star.
