Of the four modes of operation definitely work three:
- Delayed exposure (self-timer)
- Interval shooting every x seconds
- Regular recordings over a period of time
The modes can be combined in any way, so as shots every x seconds for a duration of y hours beginning after such minutes. The fourth mode, the shutter timing seems not to work with this camera, even if it is in manual mode. Perhaps I'm also not yet come out, how to do that. For me is not important.
The reset button should apparently serve as key lock, but does not work either. Necessary but that is not because the keys sit in a depression and therefore actually can not be pressed accidentally.
You can not turn off the remote control and she goes after some time not by itself from. According to the manufacturer the battery (CR 2032 button cell) to keep anyway 3 years. I want that but prefer not to try and therefore remove them forever. So often do not need to the device, too. The battery can be easily removed in any case.
Those were actually already all little problems that you can cope with (compared with Canon Genuine Accessories) given the price.
The manual trigger functions at any time in each operating mode and is therefore independent of the other functions. One can partly or wholly by pressing him how he behaves exactly as one would expect from the camera shutter button. In addition, can be the trigger when pressed mechanically lock. The purpose has not yet been tapped me - probably also for long exposures. Presumably, however, the works for the same reason as above not with this camera.
Otherwise, the workmanship is very good and fits perfectly to the camera. The operation is very easy (if you get out found that you can press on the dial). The manual is in Chinese and (dubious) English, but quite sufficient to cope with the device. The cable is long enough to comfortably somewhere to hang the unit to the tripod.
Would buy again at any time!
