Since I want to use my lenses not only when the sun shines and the clean room, I consider the protection provided by Hoya filters still for the best compromise between protection and imaging performance. It is also that little gut feeling, a sense of security and carelessness when once again the dirty filter can simply wipe unemotional with any microfibre cloth. So light would not fall on the lens to me! Because certainly play a lot with human fears into it, because actually even minimal scratches and defects on the lens will not affect the picture quality. But it's like a car. The car drives with a few scratches in the paint certainly not bad, but you look (s) over and over again on the scratched spot alone because it's there. Therefore, the protection of the lens is more peace of mind.
The filter, however, can under certain circumstances to light reflections, flares lead (with backlight) or Coronas. The trained eye recognizes the situation. Now it is time to decide whether it is worth the situation that unscrewing the filter ...)
Conclusion:
The Hoya filter is to have the best compromise between the secure feeling its quality lens adequately protected and the loss of optical power. One point deduction, there is nevertheless for the minimum "aperture loss" and the rarely occurring flares in certain backlight situations. The deduction of points is especially justified because I can not see any visual difference between a 35-EUR HAMA HTMC filter and this filter Hoya. The picture quality drops during both by an identical measure, as far as can be judged by the human eye. However, between the two brands imerhin 35 EUR. I buy the Hoya filter just because of the name? Should I give to thinking ...;)
