For this I had previously read me in the current generation of devices, just regarded me in stores this and then put different receiver shortlisted:
Onkyo TX-NR636
Pioneer VSX-924
Denon AVR-X2100
Yamaha RX-V677
The Onkyo I have been deleted again quite quickly, on the one hand only a green backlight is still going to have on the other hand me the negative postings for processing the HDMI boards are quenched at the black devices.
Denon Likes optically not very good, the Yamaha, however, is visually and sensually a treat compared to the other devices, but a good deal more expensive than, say, the Pioneer.
And that was also decisive for me, just to order this. In conjunction with the Blu-ray Player BDP 170 cost me the VSX-924 as much as the Yamaha Receiver solo!
Amazon typically was delivered quickly. The very next day, instead agekündigt on the next but the devices were there.
And thus began the misery:
The device easily connected (Toshiba TV, Kathrein satellite receiver, PlayStation, Apple TV, Blu-ray player)
Even the complicated wireless adapter I have brought up and running using the manual to vozunehmen then the other settings via app or web interface.
The app is beautifully designed, has not needed a vast range of functions, from which, however, 90% everyday!
The initial setup is then however via a Web interface.
Here the existing equipment and connections are scanned and then shown step by step, which is to be connected where.
The device is now set up in the course, and then transfer the settings to the receiver!
So theoretically, if for the W-LAN module Were it not for the lost connection!
After I fixed that, I wanted to re-send. Nope!
The inputs I was completely repeat from the beginning until it worked then!
At least briefly.
Ran the TV playback via Kathrein, until I then switched to Blu-ray. Here the picture was missing. Switched back to the TV input - no picture, although it had worked flawlessly here a few minutes ago!
So I again resorted to the app to check on the settings. But then the wireless connection was cut off again.
So the moved from Friday afternoon to Sunday at my back.
A weekend full of (ugly experience)!
Here again the most important things in brief:
Positives:
- Optics, despite plastic front
- IOS app for iPhone / iPad, very beautiful and extensive
- Relatively low price (369, - Euro)
Negatives:
- Lousy OnScreen Menu, which could come from the '90s
- Overloaded remote control with tiny buttons
- Strange, wired wireless adapter, which works very unreliable
(Wi-Fi reception was available, 3 more units in parallel with the receiver, and had further away full reception)
- Possible settings almost exclusively via app or web interface
- No Reine 5.1 setting, without involving a second zone
(On this I have nothing to connect, anyway unnecessary)
- Image output possible only sporadically (frequently been already described, as I unfortunately only now realize)
- Resetting the receiver also only possible via App
As optical negative point I have to mention the display.
I have described, this receiver appointed by the matching Blu-ray Player BDP170.
Unfortunately, this has built a different display type, with significantly different character and significantly differing readability and brightness.
For some unnecessary, clearly for me a minus point.
Conclusion:
Who buys cheap, receives favorable.
Quality has its price.
My now 7 year old Harman Kardon AVR-255 is much easier to use, has a more modern OnScreen and is significantly less complicated.
As a substitute (3D, 4K9 There is then soon but the Yamaha.
The Pioneer receiver goes along with Blu-ray players return mail back to Amazon ...
