A small update to the 03.05.2013: The view I have removed as the rollout of Jelly Bean has begun according to media reports in Portugal. For me, however came to nothing so far. I suppose Portugal's pilot country. Please also note that the review is now more than 1 year old.
There may now for the same money's better-equipped smartphones.
WHAT'S NEW
----------
The new edition of the law coveted Samsung Galaxy Ace is not only named after a consistent further development and improvement of its predecessor. I think there are three significant points:
1. The display: 800x480 pixels spread over 3.8 "instead of 320x480 pixels on 3.5"
2. The new dual-core CPU with 2x800MHz instead 800MHz single-core
3. The large device memory with 4GB instead of 150MB memory
[TO 1.]
What stands out of the box first is ajar to the Ace 1 design with a revised and fancier home button and of course, the larger size of the Ace 2, after all, Samsung has "additionally donated the display 0.3, and thus allows a much higher resolution. Instead previous quite meager 320x480 pixels there are now more than twice as many, namely 800x480 pixels. Thus, the display or the content displayed many times sharper and clearer. The out of the larger display acts resulting increase in size I do not feel as disturbing, on the contrary, , I find that Ace 2 is better now in hand.
[PICTURES TO DISPLAY]
Because pictures say more than words known, I have (also because of the demands in the comments) own pictures from Ace made 2 and display (not on the product page here in the reviews) have this added to the product images.
[TO 2]
Had the Ace at some Apps Insert (in my example, the Opera browser) occasional minor pauses, so far I can complain of any problems with the new dual-core CPU. The Apps Start felt faster than before.
[TO 3]
We would also be equal to the third and most important point for me almost. So far I have always knappsen violently with App2SD data push and the arg limited space on the phone. Yet I could but not all apps that I would have liked to use, have on the phone. This is now (for now) thanks to the new 4GB memory first story. HURRAY. But beware of the installed 4 GB, are only 2.1 GB free disposal. The rest is occupied by Samsung for the operating system and the Samsung Apps.
MINOR CHANGES
-------------------
The Ace 2 is jetz to have (data exchange at close range, for example, for payment systems or the like) with NFC. However, I have just bought the version without NFC, even if the principle of NFC sounds very intersting and is. My colleagues, for example, can use their Android 4 Smartphone (Galaxy Nexus) by NFC and "Beam" by simply holding the phones to each other bookmarks and browser content back and hersenden. That's very funny, but I see the first still as a gimmick and I think that really good applications will be only in 1-2 years' time. And then I'll probably already use the Ace 3 :-)
In the satellite navigation now comes in addition to GPS (American) and GLONASS (Russian) is used, which should be in more detail apparently as GPS. I or my Ace is in any case much more satellites than before.
Subjectively, I imagine that the camera a bit a bit faster and have improved images. But if that is measurable, I doubt it.
Although there seems to be differing opinions on a possible ambient light sensor in the Ace 2 on the Internet, I have to say, unfortunately, that the Ace 2 nor an automatic control of display brightness has as Ace 1. It looks as if, on the device In addition to the photo lens "recesses" for sensors (could also be the proximity sensor), but I can make anywhere in the unit for automatic display brightness. Neither in the Android 2.3.6 settings, even on Quick Settings, as I know from the Desire ago. Under certain circumstances, the sensor is installed, but Samsung has "forgotten" to activate it. Possibly it works with an update to ICS (if it comes).
Haptic feedback in the sense of vibration at the keyboard input, I could not with the Samsung keypad, even with the swipe also available switch or configure keyboard.
If me something newsworthy notice, I will extend the review accordingly.
OTHER BUSINESS
---------
The migration of my contact way, I have - because I do not like to send my data to Google and gravel with me never really wanted - made with MyPhoneExplorer (Just typing in google). This is super easy via WLAN, one installed locally on the phone and an app on the PC also.
To the entire Samsung Hubs / Apps example ChatON I do still propagated a wide berth. So I can not make friends really me, nor with the TouchWiz user interface, but is ultimately geschackssache. I instead installed as well as the LauchnerPro from the Google Play goals in 1 Ace me.
CONCLUSION
-------
I hope with my instructions a to or have helped others in the decision. I find that Ace 2 is a successful development of the Ace 1 and am very happy with it.
