I am a regular phone changes, since I easily move from Android to iOS.
I had the 5S, and I sold it because of the screen size. Seeing that the 6 correct this, why not try ...
DESIGN: First, I must say that the machine is very beautiful as usual: it is well in hand, chamfers on the side were removed and it is less likely to slash the fingertips. The device is lightweight, with a slender (6.9 mm thick). Some criticize that the camera exceeds yes, it exceeds, and yes, the phone is sometimes not stable once asked. But with a shell, the problem is quickly resolved. I also criticize the place of the screen: once again, the screen occupies only 70% of the front almost, which is low compared with other devices (LG G3 for example).
AUTONOMY: So good, we change a winning team; There certainly was a marked improvement over 5S, but we are still far from the Samsung Galaxy S5 for example ... We will hold a day for sure, but I have the phone for one week; I expect to see in two months because my 5S, autonomy was much worse. I think Apple should add 0.5 mm thick and move on real drums, because it is still limited there ... So you reload the phone every night surely. Moreover, the load takes about 2 to 3 hours.
SCREEN: Strong point is undeniable; Even if the resolution of 326 ppi may seem low, where some exceed the 500, I'm surprised not to see the pixels. The colors are vibrant, it's really one of the best screens I've seen on a phone (and I have had the LG G3 which has a Quad HD screen ...). Certainly we can not cover the 4.7-inch with your finger, but double tapping on the fingerprint sensor, the interface drops to half of the screen, which is very handy.
SPEAKER: I wanted to talk about it because there has been a real improvement: it is more powerful than before !! It's still the single, but it's pretty good I think.
CAMERA: As usual, another strong point: excellent quality, with a faster autofocus (phase detection and therefore more effective), a fashion slowed to 240 fps (first smartphone to have this), and also a fashion Time Lapse (accelerated). Note that for the first time exposure can be adjusted. This is certainly an effective camera, but perhaps too simple settings for some ... Me it super suits me in occasional use. The front camera of 1.2 Megapixel still very low at the time of selfie but made a big software work on the colors to make them drinkable pictures.
At night, the photos are really not great.
The video stabilization is great, quite impressive and powerful (note that optical stabilization is about 6 Plus, not the 6 contrary to what I've seen on an Apple ad.)
iOS 8: Continuing the 7; Some things are made, but it is essentially new in the Mac environment - iPhone: with a Mac, the functions for an incoming call on the Mac, to write an email and continue on the Mac on the iPhone are a real plus. iMessages on Mac now supports SMS, which was not the case before. This requires that the two devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, and use the "Continuity" (Mail, Safari ...) must be Bluetooth enabled. The Notification Center widgets now accept, but the applications are not yet offering teeming ... He will still have to wait. A BIG NEGATIVE POINT: like iPhone 6 has a new screen model, the already existing applications are not compatible; Some large publishers have reacted quickly (Facebook, Twitter, ...), but certain applications or games are still on the old definitions: we are left with a disgusting zoom, huge letters, etc ... It is inherent in the evolution of the range, but for now it's a real failure, which is also not present on the 6 Plus, since it takes applications for iPad on which they simply zooms, which is what best admittedly. Finally, the fingerprint sensor TouchID still works as well, noted that it is opening up to third party applications and now allows to be used for passwords (for example on the Amazon application!). Other improvements are secondary, as does tapping on the fingerprint sensor to lower the top of the interface, etc ...
iOS 8 is once again an exceptional fluidity (it changes some high-end Android phones ...).
STORAGE: 16GB is really too little, especially as only 10 GB is then available. Apple should pass on 32 basis GB. For the photo you always have the solution automatically upload cloud services, and you can use the music streaming apps (Deezer, Spotify), but all this still adds fresh ...
CONCLUSION: In sum, a good phone, which I think is recommended for those who have a Mac, because the two worlds are now very complementary. Nevertheless, the price of the device is still unacceptable ... Simply, we must also say that compared to other phones, and in my experience, the iPhone is still used resell better (my iPhone 5S lost 6 months 100 euros, my HTC One M7 lost 150 euros over 4 months my LG G3 lost 200 euros on 3 months: this is clear).
So I suggest if you want to test for the first time iOS, and you were previously on Android, because the new screen size, and the changes of iOS does not déboussoleront you. But also to those who want a good day of camera or phone to communicate effectively (that is still his first goal ...).
I recommend if you look for a Swiss Army knife telephone, or has an autonomy: think rather to Samsung or HTC, for example.
ALTERNATIVES: If you are allergic (and I can understand) to Apple, you can watch the Samsung Galaxy Alpha side or the HTC One M8 side: note, however, that new models of these phones will surely come out to April 2015.
NOTE: I do not advise to buy from third-party resellers on Amazon: you find very low prices certainly, but it will surely phones from importing more difficult to resell used, and surely more difficult to from collateral. Moreover, it is even possible depending on the source of the device that it is not compatible to some French 4G bands (including 2800 mHz Free Mobile ...). A word.
[AFTER TWO MONTHS OF USE]: I am always so happy with the phone; I have learned to tame functions with my Mac, and call pickup on the computer prevents running throughout the house to try to catch the phone. SMS creation functions are also very useful on the Mac, especially for some long messages. I have some difficulty operating the other functions such as writing emails started on the Mac and terminated on the phone, and also Internet browsing.
The catalog of Apple applications is very satisfying, and allows for a lot with an iPhone, but we already knew.
I do not see scratches on my screen that is not protected by a protective film: So it seems to be in good order.
No problems either on the side of the camera is good, but as I said not great in low light.
The screen size is well managed by Apple with all the functions that I already mentioned: it is a real plus.
Battery: I finds no decline in life, and I am very pleasantly surprised I was able to take one day and a half or even two days after, finishing with an iPhone ... But certainly fully discharged that I have used over the 2 days (not in play and not video ... eh).
So for now, I'm not tired!
