I am somewhat "biased" because I (new) Country generally very happy to hear .. but Zac Brown Band is a bit unusual. Seemingly effortlessly, almost "old-fashioned" country elements (Mary, violin intro ..) are mixed with summer-sun-Pacific flair (eg toes, Where the boat leaves from). Lyrically thoroughly honest are sung themes like love, freedom, love (for music) and simply good life. And that really varied! A few "classic" New Country ballads are also included (Different kind of fine, Highway 20 Ride, Jolene), some funny (Chicken fried / sic em on a chicken) songs round out the picture.
The CD was recommended to me by an American metal / hard rock band (ex-BNS) and - what can I say, the man has taste in music;)
