From environmental point of view, I consider all these Earth Keeper however questionable.
Timberland advertises that the inner boot consists of 50% and the bottom 42% of recycled materials and the leather is tanned environmentally friendly.
That sounds good, of course, only once, and speaks for the product.
However, what bothers me: in contrast to other Timberland boots (eg the classic 6-inch premium boot) very thin and clear softer sole has passed after a winter of regular use.
Is to say: after a winter of boots should be discarded or re-soled, while the classic sole with no problems participates 5 winter. I heard some of people that they have taken the classic 6-inch boots 10 years and then probably but not daily.
What I want out: if you take has so often buy boots 5, then it is not much use if the shoe overall outer leather before, because this is not recycled is recycled to below 50%.
Yes, on the contrary, it harms the environment even more significantly, because you have time to buy the whole 5 boots so often and pays accordingly on it.
One advantage, however, is indisputable, that runs better with the softer sole. This point is for me, however, less important, but would it have mentioned, if there jmd. Interested.
For people who only occasionally wear the shoe and fashion aspect is in the foreground, the purchase may be worth, but it is clearly inferior vs. my feeling in the value in use. classic Timberland boots, but unfortunately now no longer correspond to the former production qualities.
I once ordered me before buying this Earthkeeprer boot the three "Timberland 6-Inch Premium Boot" and at every boot the leather tongue was sewn so catastrophic that these extreme friction and pain at the ankle caused (see reviews there). The outer seams were sewn partially catastrophic, as the heel was shifted from one to another boot by about 1 cm. Unfortunately, because otherwise I would have not borne this Earth keeper, but the classic boot, which would have kept about 5 years again.
This Earthkeeper boots I have now bought from Amazon in the Cyber Week for 86,99 Euro and hope be able to leave in about a year resole. So the shoe at the price paid would be acceptable.
EIA it is in my opinion, due to the very limited useful life, heavily overpriced.
