I've tested a few players, my buying criteria were:
- Less than 100 euros
- 3D compatible
- The greatest possible number of container files
- Quiet drive (had a Sony player bad experiences)
- Because my Fritz box is 50 centimeters away without wireless and the charge for wireless thus in my case makes no sense
Now for the tested players:
The Samsung BD-E5500 has an uncanny loud drive noise and he reacts very slowly to some remote commands. This has just annoyed. The menu was visually with the most appealing, but the drive noise a killer criterion. Let's hope that Samsung will change in the next generation of players.
The Philips BDP3380 / 12 has played me simply too few formats.
The Toshiba BDX4350KE comes wertig therefore, the display is too bright, the menu quite complicated. The killer criterion for these players, however, was absolutely the underground poor remote control. On the one hand, the player himself felt by all candidates on wertigsten on the other hand, he had the worst remote I've ever had in his hands. From the optics, this strongly resembled a remote control that comes with one of my satellite receiver, except that the pressure point is a disaster. Not infrequently, a key must be pressed twice or three times until the player reacts. And it is definitely on the remote control. People who use a universal remote control should therefore quiet times an eye on the Toshiba if the complicated menu system does not interfere.
The here praised by customers Hualu BDP-2040 I have excluded it may currently play everything, but I just do not the future security, because you so do not recognize the brand and do not know how it looks with software updates.
Sony I have ruled out since the last player I had Sony, the BDP-S490, a high cheeping produced. Probably still seems to be the case at the recent BDP-S4100, also I find the design quite pleasing indeed but very impractical. Nope!
So it was then the LG BP430.
Now for the differences 430/420 (without guarantee completeness ;-)):
- The 430 has played everything I have given to feed him (what the 420 did not, despite the current software)
- The 430 is narrower than the 420. matter of taste, I do not mind, now is my NAS is still space in the AV rack next to the Blu-ray player and satellite receiver
- The 430 has a coaxial, the 420 an optical digital output
- The front USB port of the 430 has no lid for closing the socket (which does not bother me)
- Remote control of the 430 runs one size smaller, what I find pleasant, but it's not such a cheap plastic part as some other players, it feels right to wertig
- The menu looks more tidy, although can not choose how the 420 from four backgrounds you, but one is okay.
I would like to see the possibility of a dark menu background, had my old BP370 why is deviated from, no idea, just I found at night it "work" much more pleasant with dark menu background, so fires one of the bright background powerful in the eyes, if the environment is unlit.
Those were really the difference that struck me so far, it may be other. For my taste, is the 430 a good development of the 420 and currently the best player under 100 euros.
What I generally (Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Philips, and possibly others) are not so much like the displays. Firstly, the colors (green or at Toshiba powerful too bright bright blue) and, secondly, the view through, I do not know what you call it, led strokes and not by individual LED points. That was and is beautiful, maybe you can also expect the only on more expensive devices.
I hope I have some give a little help in the Blu-ray Player jungle.
Updated on 16.05.2013:
As you can read in the comments, has a buyer of BP430 Drive Problems: It describes a clearly audible hum. I highly recommend this noise in my player still does not notice. However, the sake of completeness, I wanted this information to add to the review, so if you were to find similar problems with the drive, should perhaps insist on an exchange.

The Smart TV features I have not yet tested, to services such as Spotify or max cathedrals I can therefore say nothing. The DLNA functions are (so far) all the best.
Update from 13/06/2013:
Since it has been criticized in the comments that in this review there is nothing to see on picture and sound quality, I would add that I could not detect any significant differences in this price segment. I was satisfied with all devices with both the picture and the sound quality.
