A family of four found dead and half dead in Their house in an estate on the make. Anyone expecting just a "whodunnit" will be in for surprises. This book is dark and disturbing. It is hard to decide what gets to you more - the ghost estates the recession has left on Ireland's coasts or the very realistic description of someone slipping Gradually into mental illness. In the end - just like "In the Woods" you are left in doubt as to the supernatural element, That is only hinted at.
All through the story, I kept changing my mind about "whodunnit" and so I kept changing my attitude towards the two detectives in charge. Most disturbing of all: I kept changing my attitude about how life Should be lived. I could not put this book down.
