OK, the camera is not a professional instrument! But for my application (monitoring a small boutique) I think the quality is absolutely OK!
I brought three of these CAMs to use and had no problems with it. Only with a camera I had to perform a reset and then everything worked.
There are three points to pay attention to:
1) The camera has to reset a defined IP address (192.168.0.20) taking you to the configuration interface (also available in the online manual on the CD).
This works with a direct cable connection PCCAM but only if you have previously adjusted its own IP-circle in the network card accordingly. So some who are familiar with the matter for people.
2) On the CD supplied, there is a tool with which you can set at the CAM Step Step. For this it makes sense to connect the camera directly to the router. Thus, the CAM will then receive an IP from the router and can be addressed also. Really easy! If it did not even try a reset.
3) I have before the actual establishment of the camera the latest firmware update (currently is the 1.01) recorded. That works without problems via the configuration interface. But beware: All data already set are then gone and you have to set up the camera from scratch!
But that is in almost all devices (eg with many routers) that way.
The cameras I have tested on two "Telekom routers" (Speedport W503V and W723V). The Speeport W503V has initially also resisted :-) and did not find the cameras with fixed IP addresses. I had to adjust to the CAM DHCP, the router has assigned an IP address, and later I was able to store the IP in the camera as a static IP.
The general statement of - violin Sparrow "Bookworm" - over the Fritz box I can not quite understand. I know that there are more than a Fritz! Box and a friend of mine has taken to also run on a Fritz! Box will use its camera. In some cases, a firmware update the router helps. , .!
