Black Celebration (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"Black Celebration" could well be regarded as one of the great milestones of Depeche Mode. Many fans see this today as their best. So radical Grooves like "Fly on the Windscreen", "Stripped" or "A Question of Time" has never been in electronic music before. In a time where shallow, cheaper Pop stormed the charts, Depeche Mode came back with such a bizarre album. The mood of the album is kept dark and sad. Strangely enough, the songs seem despite all dark building, which the masses but realized until much later! Depeche Mode gave off in their song for the first time really lifeblood! Martin Gore sings on this work often than ever, thereby also the delicate and sad side of the album is beautifully expressed. "Black Celebration" still seems timeless and sound despite the age still surprisingly modern, because the sound is so sophisticated and not be topped. The many minimalist ballads are a true feast for the ears and underline the sad character of this masterpiece. This album has a dark, erotic beauty and gives the listener a lot of mental energy. Here the band manages very skilfully a bridge between cool sounds and build very soulful harmonies and warmth. "Black Celebration" is the "soundtrack" of the 80s and who knows the albums of other artists of the time, knows that Depeche Mode light years ahead of their time was! This work met the nerve of time than any other album. It had a huge impact on the music scene! This sound was exhausted and exploited by "commercialism". Consequently, it could also Depeche Mode nothing really new multi-created with her next albums, and therefore were no longer inclined birds of yesteryear. Just for starters, it is an ideal plant to to deal with the musical essence of the band! Dave Gahan's voice is here very distinctive and is survived by Martin Gore a very impressive song! The harmony between Dave and Martin's voice was seldom as strong as here. At the level of electronic sounds with the band "Black Celebration" has undoubtedly reached its zenith! Even the look of the band was at its peak. The band was in the prime of life and could underline their music perfectly with their hairstyles and their leather clothes. Especially Martin with his leather skirt, lipstick and hat always made a stir.
"Black Celebration" is a very sophisticated electronic album full of great melodies and small minimalist masterpieces. This sad and gloomy atmosphere is absolutely unique and is unlike any other business. "Black Celebration" is a very an erotic album without failures.
