I bought the laptop deliberately without preinstalled Windows since it was thus almost 100 cheaper, and you now get Windows 7 pretty cheap. I also wanted to have no pre-installed Windows 8, since I think it's not good.
The Windows 7 installation was a breeze. The remaining drivers you can get relaxed on the Lenovo site, transfer via USB stick and install (Note 2. a computer for the software procure necessary as WLAN Driver need to be installed).
So far so good.
After installing all the drivers the device manager indicates no question mark, so all components are installed correctly.
Now come from Windows Update, of course, countless updates that are recommended to install. This is followed by several reboots.
--- >> And then comes the big surprise: after all Windows updates and Lenovo were drivers for Windows 7 installed, can no longer connect via WLAN the laptop out of the blue, not only that he does not recognize times existing WLAN networks! ! And although worked perfectly before the Windows update, after the driver installation, WLAN and Internet.
-> Windows Error Diagnostics recommends that you should press the physically "Wifi button" on a laptop, so that the network adapter is enabled. Just stupid, that this laptop does not have a Wifi button !!
- Is> the only thing the laptop has a Hotkeyreihe at the top of the keyboard, however, (Symbol aircraft) is because after installing all Windows offered at Lenovo 7 drivers the decisive Button "Airplane Mode" is still inactive or.
-> There but at Lenovo for exactly this laptop is no driver for Windows 7, which takes care of the programming of the hotkeys, you stand first as stupid and do not know how to get the wifi working again or how the network adapter to activate.
Search After some googling and problem on the Internet, I have found but fortunately a solution.
-> You can namely the Lenovo Windows 7 software for another Lenovo laptop version is also used for the Z50. The software is called "Lenovo Energy Management" and after installation of the hot keys are all assigned functions and on the "air" button now pops up a window that allows you to turn on / off WLAN / Bluetooth. So you can enable the network adapter and wireless is found normally. That was for me so far the only major problem with this laptop.
To Hardware:
- Keyboard: clear a little softer and more sensitive than other laptops but since I not aggressive in the laptop hoe as some other people I get along very well handle it.
- Screen: shines and reflects on, but since I do not use outdoors, not indoors laptop I do not care. Image is full, bright and color intensive'm thrilled.
- SSD hard drive: a dream! No comparison to normal non-SSD hard drives. Windows 7 powered up in 5 seconds, a madness, zero noise, mega fast.
- Processor / RAM: mega fast, so far as not to lead to the limit in any.
- Graphics: top, videos, animations and so on totally smooth, stutter zero. I not been playing with the laptop, so I will not be able to make fullest.
- Connections / DVD drive: everything just as you would imagine.
- Battery: I actually do not lead by graphic-intensive and compute-intensive steps, I get along very well with the battery. 4h are getting loose there.
- Weight: a 15.4-inch laptop is very handy as flat and very mobile usable. Am satisfied.
- Design & Material: clear attracts dust like magic, but if you included Tastaturtüchlein's always nice hangs in front collapse eaten the subject. And personally I clean my new jewel like to regularly, so I can live with that. Design is nice black with beautiful patterns and chrome accents. Personally I like very well.
All in all I would recommend for the price the laptop each, provided one is familiar with Windows and driver installation and know the problem with the Lenovo Energy Management software (this was for me the only real problem).
Hope I could help someone with my review.
