Based on my review:
I was looking for an everyday use Hi-Fi headphones. Not too expensive, good sound, practical and comfortable to wear. I have had little technical know-how, but already many headphones of different designs in use.
SIMILARITIES (the two comparison objects)
- Price offer similar (16 vs. 11 for JVC for Philips)
- Advertising with "Extra Bass"
- Gold-plated plug with included adapter
- About 2 m cable length
- Overhead bracket
- Both products with good, but slightly different sound
- Both products with a strong bass
- Visually, although different in size, both appealing
- Both products of good quality and processing
DIFFERENCES
- JVC with large earphones (ranging around your ears) - about 9.5 cm in diameter
- Philips with smaller earbuds (sit on the ear) - about 6.5 cm in diameter
Benefits of Philips SBCHP400:
+++ Earpads very soft and comfortable
+++ Sound overall less better -. Rounded, good balance betw bass and brighter tones
+++ Earcups completely folded (eg for 1-Ear Listening)
+++ Headband comfortably upholstered and visually presentable
Disadvantages of Philips SBCHP400:
--- 1 each cable leads from each ear away - across his chest together leaders - about tangled wires
--- Earcups sit on the ear and slip easily (even with little movement)
--- Headphones sitting in total less stable on his head - a little wobbly
--- Padding rounded on headband - thus lower bearing surface and poorer seat
CONCLUSION for Philips:
My winner is mainly due to the higher wearing comfort and almost equivalent sound of JVC. The Philips is (also) a very good sound again. The quality is equivalent. Only the comfort is in my opinion weaker. These are, however, a matter of taste - to me were seated on the ear earpieces from the beginning somehow uncomfortable. Also, the one-sided cable of laxative JVC I find positive. So you have less dangling cables than at Philips before him. Although the JVC will cost 5 more, I recommend this product. I expect more everyday suitability in very comparable sound.
I rate more likely to buy the JVC and not the advertised product here.
