Having the habit of listening to high-fidelity music, audiophile on a chain, and being fond of jazz and classical, I must admit that this system surprised me with its sound quality and is excellent for restoring the sound coming from my computer.
This obviously does not replace a sound on the hi-fi speakers, but it is useful for listening to streaming music, better appreciate excerpts on YouTube or listen to songs from its iTunes library.
Moreover, I already had the Denon Cocoon Wifi system, for comparison Bose wins hands down.
First, his party software and interface is much better than Denon thought - but it was not very difficult as that of Denon was calamitous. A downloadable app for your iPhone or iPad, an app for your Mac: you set very easily in the following step by step instructions, and hop voila.
Thus, you can stream music and audio from your computer or iBidule. The system automatically detects the Apple Airplay and connects (priority besides, if for example you were listening to a radio preselection) to your source and distribute it as you wish.
Two small things to check: 1) to the iTunes library, you may need to select the broadcast system (built - in speakers) via the AirPlay logo (top left, just after the volume slider). Very good news: your computer can handle multiple outputs simultaneously, allowing you to provide music distribution, or mood in multiple rooms of your home. Better: no matter that these systems are from different manufacturers. My mac simultaneously manages the Denon Cocoon (in my kitchen), and Bose (in my living room), plus its integrated speakers outputs - all can work together as it is possible to select one or the other of these outputs.
2) If you listen to music from the internet, you must select the output from System Preferences and Son. Here however, you can not simultaneously manage multiple systems. Too bad - but that is not the fault of these systems.
His side is well balanced, crisp highs, deep bass, and I find the neutral sound (which I like) and higher than the Denon system. The highlight of this sound system in no doubt.
Visually, the OLED screen is convenient, always shows the piece aired from your library - instead of tedious scrolling and not remaining Cocoon.
Some (small) criticism nonetheless:
1) The partnership is limited to Deezer and Spotify. We would like Napster Quobuz and join the party. You can of course listen to streaming via AirPlay if you have a subscription, but the functions will be less convenient for Deezer and Spotify, which are in direct access from your apps iBidule or Mac, and that select your pieces, show titles, create favorites etc ...
2) The camera remains on standby permanently displaying the WiFi symbol. It remains lukewarm, indicating a power consumption that is not trivial. And even remain on standby, it could display the time, at least it is convenient.
3) The design is less daring than the Denon Cocoon. It is in the square pavement, a little stiff, typical of Bose, though. We like it or not. But it true that the unit fits very well - and discreetly - in a library shelf. Hence the next point.
4) idiocy: Auxiliary input, with a jack to plug an external device, which is at the back of the device! Absolutely absurd and impractical - it is seen that the device was actually designed for WiFi use, but still place this entry on the top or sides of the camera would have been more clever.
These issued reserves, remains a very well-designed, perfect for Mac users, and again, with a very satisfying sound.
