Abstract: My E46 320d has EZ April 2005 and is currently (July 2014) 56,000 km down (former old boys city vehicle.); Euro 4 without DPF. The defects on the motor side are on the one hand a creaking / slightly increased nailing with greater load (Autobahn> 180km / h + acceleration) and on the other hand a bucking incl. Delayed throttle response at 2000 rev / min. By LM 5128 both is almost gone (> 95%), in my case immediately at the next turn of the key. One can imagine the record of almost exclusively.
Long version: By now required exhaust gas recirculation of the suction of dirty engines not insignificant. Have the throttle bodies can exchange them for a facelifted to go the swirl flaps problem out of the way. The soot deposits in the intake manifold are not negligible (two images which are now set by me). The immediate effect of LM 5128 will be not due to cleaning, but primarily to the increase in the cetane number, which can also be achieved with BP Ultimate. But I hope that in the medium by the other additives in Diesel Additive to long sets a weeding effect, going to no longer run without fuel additive. The Ruckelproblem has led 320d-owners too elaborate searching and partly unexpected elimination trials, up to the exchange of the accelerator pedal. This is almost never directly assign an error code in the engine-diagnostic equipment. When this deficiency with an additive can be quite easy to get a grip, I'll go this way permanently, even if it's the fuel costs of course drives up, because - the 320d Touring is in sum the properties a really good car. What I have to say by reviews on diesel additives, there is jerking with other manufacturers, yet in different speed ranges. That cars with clean intake system and fuel injectors little effect on LM 5128 show (except for some reduced nailing wg. Increasing cetane number), it is understandable for me. Incidentally, I also expect reduced levels of smoke opacity with the AU; earlier comparative data I've still got.
Rating: For those who know the aforementioned quirks at BMW two-liter diesel, LM 5128 definitely try - cheaper than any troubleshooting and any attempt at repair.
Outlook: At first, I used two LM 5128, then LM "Diesel Purge" (two tanks of fuel). I can not mention any (short recognizable) differences, and therefore remain in 5128. The test with two-stroke oil as an addition I had made up time in the eye, but discarded; I go not to the last euro savings. I stay at the LM 5128, and will soon be time overdose (1.5 cans per tank), and then once a tankful omit.
