1. Models
- Lumia 730: Dual SIM (2 x Micro SIM)
- Lumia 735: only a nano-SIM, for LTE + wireless Qi charging
Otherwise, both are the same. There are only four colors (Back Cover).
2. Back Cover
The original Nokia.Backcover offered here for less than 15 euros, fit for both models. Black, white and green are matt, Orange is shiny.
CAUTION: Lumia 730, the Qi function Not An Qi back cover can be retrofitted.
3. Hardware
- FEEL: The device looks very classy and is very comfortable to hold. It is just a little smaller than an iPhone 6, but noticeably lighter. There is a lot more comfortable in the hand (I have both devices) and is also at no additional cover is not so "slippery" like the iPhone (at least in matt Back Covers, I have the black and green)
- BUTTONS: There are two hardware buttons (volume rocker and on / off). Sorry, no dedicated camera button. It is also not possible to define one of the hardware buttons (for example, volume) as capture key.
- Screen: The screen is AMOLED and therefore very "knacklig" As for the color scheme. Although the resolution is not Full HD, the picture razor sharp the contrast is very good. There is a special mode, which facilitates readability in bright sunlight. You can adjust the sensitivity of what ermögtlicht also an operation with gloves.
- SPEAKER: The speaker is behind (mono). It is loud enough and the sound is quite ok. Miracles can not be expected and the iPhone sounds definitely better. But it will do just fine.
- Headphones: are NOT included. The one must therefore sold separately. The sound from the headset is then very good and when the headset is connected, it is used as an antenna for the built-in FM RDS radio. You can then make the sound on speakers, but without the radio is not connected headphones.
- CAMERAS: The main camera dissolves completely adequate to 6.7 MP. The light intensity is with Aperture 1.9 very well. An LED flash is (unlike the Lumia 630) available. The front camera triggers with 5 MP also very high, and has a wide-angle (24 mm), which is ideal for Selfies. However, the image can be seen worse than in the main camera. The automatic white balance is significantly better than the Nokia 630. However, the coloring, as in this, not so naturally my impression. In particular, faces are too red. Here the cameras of the iPhone 6 (the course five times as expensive) worlds better.
- Battery: The battery holds a loose when rumdaddelt not too much two days by. In that regard, better than the iPhone. He is changeable (which is hardly relevant in my opinion, since I've never used a second battery).
- Memory: The memory is quite small but expandable through a Micro-SD card up to 128 GB with 8 GB. One can also be quake that new apps to be installed on the SD card. Some apps but do not allow that. Annoying is that the offline maps are seemingly always loaded from HERE in the device memory, which thus fills up fast.
- Processor: The quad-core processor is the same as the Nokia 630 and Windows Phone basically fast enough. However, running 730 not quite as fluid as the 630. If you "wipe down" through by the screen scrolls (eg in the App Store) sometimes it comes to jumps / stuttering. This is annoying if you are used to the silky-smooth performance of an iPhone, but also in other Lumia models (about 830) to be found, and you get used to it, especially as it is not too often occurs.
- EMPANGSLEISTUNG: are very good about my impression. Even phone calls are clearly understandable for both sides.
- Power supply: included (microUSB). A bit annoying is that the USB cable is firmly connected to the power supply. For the Lumia 735 (NOT 730) you can for about 30 euros to buy this, on which you can put just for charging the phone then Qi charger (eg DT-900).
4. Software
- WINDOWS PHONE: The instrument is supplied with Windows Phone 8.1 (denim). It will receive an update to Windows 10. Daredevils / Umgeduldige can already one (but not yet fully developed) Preview download to your 730. From Preview 2 is supported on the 735 (also below 5).
- SAFETY: Windows Phone is how iOS an encapsulated operating system. There are, so far as appears, ebensowenug viruses for at iOS (and accordingly no virus scanner).
- Apps: Here is a shortcoming of Windows Phone compared to iOS and Android. While there are of the latter in each case about 1 million apps, there are for Windows Phone "only" 240,000. I have found a replacement for almost all the features that were dear to the iPhone me. But there are gaps.
For example, there are no apps to use the Fritz box for cable Germany or to stream Panasonic Bluray recorders. I miss a universal banking app as Outbank (there are for Windows Phone StarMoney that but as Amazon does not support credit and financial view, that runs all Bank data on their own servers but what me not being uneasy). A calendar app that could take it for example with Week Calender or Mical for the iPhone, one searches in vain and also the e-mail program is not nearly as variable such as the iOS. In the latter two points, I hope for Windows 10 degrees.
- LIFETILES: Nevertheless, Windows Phone is simply fun. Although Android has widgets, but is still overall very similar to iOS remained. Microsoft has managed in the user interface to deliver something really new and I find that very refreshing after six years iOS and Android experience.
5. TIP
Since 10.4. there Technical Preview 2 for Windows Phone 10. To load these, you have to invite Insider and register the app Windows for the program. Windows Phone 10 TP 2 is still quite "buggy". I would therefore it does not install. BUT: You can use the "Windows Insider app" to now install the update to Windows Phone 8.1 2, which is so far officially only available for the Lumia 640. It works like this:
a) Install Windows Insider app and register for the Windows Insider program.
b) In this app go through the step of loading the Technical Preview.
c) start the update under mobile updates. Now will be the first step to upgrade to WP 10 Update 2 for Windows Phone 8.1. loaded.
d) While this update loads, uninstall the app Windows Technical Preview.
Follow:

6. Conclusion
All in all, you get a tremendous amount of smartphone for less than 200 euros. One star deduction for the not so great camera (which would have to be actually solved by firmware patches) and the stutterer from time to time occur (not associated with the same processor at 630).
