However, since the space and the technology has changed greatly in our home, distance to the TV and HD movies via streaming 6m, needed a bigger TV with DLNA function.
Since I had very good experiences with the brand Sharp, I wanted to like to stay in this brand, although this could not establish in Germany. It is this point made quite rapidly noticeable, none of the E-major markets had this Sharp model for sale. Therefore, I could only form an opinion only through various reviews and product images me. So the decision was made: "The thick plastic frames in my opinion is not up to date ...", as were two other products in the race.
The Samsung and Philips in direct comparison.
Both have an amazing size, 65 inches right up my alley. The design of both TVs look at first glance, very stylish, which on closer inspection the Samsung more like "Plastic Fantastic". The Philips contrast, with its aluminum frame and Ambilight, but stands very much on its competitors.
Both televisions deliver crystal-clear image on the currently transmitted WM transfer at ZDF HD. It has done towards image quality in recent years, quite a bit. The Samsung, has to my taste, too "colorful" picture and the course of the image movement is more visible. At Philips, however, the picture is very pleasant and the image history is liquid.
Setting thing?
Now switched with counterparties on SD channels in order. Both provide a good picture of the size, the distance to the TV should be considered clearly. But even here the Philips converts to a much better image.
All in all, the Philips superior to the Samsung image technically far. Besides compared to the Samsung 9000 Series makes the Samsung a brilliant picture, but for twice the price.
The 3D function has not interest me so I've done well here no comparison to that later.
The image from the Philips had me absolutely convinced that's why he also should be the chosen one, but ...
... For me an absolute knockout criterion playing div. Movie formats on a NAS (Server).
First, technical data and information on streaming and DLNA wanted, become immediately find it at Samsung, so he plays all common formats without problems. The search after Philips turned out to be very difficult. The TV is too new, there is no experience and in the as yet published the technical details, you will not even clever. So the seller locally interviewed, but this was also not really sure. Well call customer support at Philips, what can I say, the nice lady could begin with the terms NAS, streaming, DLNA and so very little and gave me finally the information. No one can unfortunately not watch movies via server. Disappointed, I already saw the Samsung as a last alternative, but I could not imagine for the life that this function should not be present.
So I bought the Philips, wired and hung the monster on the wall. First attempt MKV 1080p with DTS soundtrack via server. Impeccable, it works without problems. Other features below ... more
The sound is typical LCD okay but nothing more. For people that do not have surround sound system connected, I would recommend the right to Soundbar.
The TV should be mounted on the wall in threes, two lift the TV and / the other person connects to everything. The Ricoo TV wall mount has here ideal, and I night rougher the AmazonBasics wall mount. Quality at an unbeatable price, there is no longer unfortunately.
Features:
Tested the 3D function with Avatar, really great, but I'll have to get more 3D material in the future. The 2D to 3D function you can give.
Sharing is not only possible but also NAS from TV to smartphone, tablet or other TVs. That means I can use my mobile videos, pictures, etc. via Wi-Fi on the Philips play. Genial is the function from Philips to another DLNA compatible device. So I can, for example, pay TV channels 1: 1 stream to another device, but then both devices are on the same transmitter. When I switch the channel on the Philips, the other TV switches on the current channel.
The Ambilight is just awesome, there it has been for many years, but new is that it can be connected to Philips hue and combine. This way you can convert a normal floor lamp with a bulb and hue of Ambilight effect can be extended individually. There are also LED Stripes Basic and sets.
Apps there are more than enough, the most important as YouTube and Co are also there.
The manual is integrated into the TV, hopefully a PDF with Philips will be released soon. To navigate the instructions in the TV is not at all my thing.
Short and Sweet -> My absolute favorite in large size and price ratio
I'm still excited and would buy it immediately.
My Addendum:
The firmware crashing frequently, particularly strong in the Smart TV menu -> For many apps, the software depends on. The TV must be left hochfahen about 3 minutes, otherwise it may crash. Mostly you have to make the device normally, so you can watch TV on again. Switching the programs very sluggish. Sorting channels very awkward -> Where the channel remains editor. The image and the technology and design TOP, but the software very poor. I had to reduce my zunächt 5 star awarded AUD 3. There have been 3 updates after my purchase, but the reaction time was never solved any other of the above points. The TV market is highly competitive, especially in the field of software you have to be the customer. Please rectify, then there are 5 star.
Second Addendum:
As seen at Rozilla in video, one can not speak of zapping here. After switching the image should be displayed immediately as it is also the case with other devices. After the last update the Umschaltzeitn have become not much better, but the picture is no longer jerky so strong after changing channels.
The crashes in apps and in various settings in the TV are unfortunately remained! If I can reproduce the Absürze, I'll list them here. Promise pages Philips were not again met - trigger> Star
