Customer Review

I had written a euphoric 5 star review. This I have to -leider- serious perspective, because I wanted to take the PVR function in operation. Generally, I can leave most extent. Below wirds then bitter for Philips.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Old review, first day:

Requirements: TV with Sattuner, Timeshift and Record, 80 cm diagonal for our office Ironing guests hobby room.
I have wrestled with my Philips or Samsung. Ultimately gave our existing top TV before the direction.

TV delivered at 11.00, set up, set up, set up stations to 14, shortly after 12. The work calls ...
I'd say so, even for consumers of afternoon television the general commissioning should be no problem.
The station sorting (Sat) is not trivial, but likely for people who have completed the 4th year and the numbers from 1 to 1500 by heart no hurdle know represent.

Since finding the sender is the real showpiece I have resorted to me as follows:
Scan - list on stick pulled - pulled the "Philips Channel Editor" from the network - read the list.
As this editor is famous for its unreliable I have the stations that interest me (35 in number) located by the search and record the position (on paper ...). By means of this list, the Order was a breeze on TV. , Mark position to enter, enter new location ready. Is not elegant, but less than 45 minutes will cost lifetime.

Then you can enjoy the sensational picture Send this TV. The built Sattuner is really suitable. The HD channels seem like Bluray and SD channels look DVD standard (except cable 1 ...) The switching times move in scope. Short break makes the Technisat and should it actually can. We do not consider it a long time.

The remote control is again not the highlight: little vague, which certainly also causes the often lamented delays here in the reviews. At least she has a few buttons more than our living room because you always have through the menu. But is it a daily procedure. We do not need for each movie a specific setting.

Since we already have a Philips in the living room Philips 42PFL7606K / 02 107 cm was the picture as no surprise. Is always great. Because it is powered by a Technisat receiver, the oft-cited channel sorting was not an issue. It should be said that the order in Technisat has its pitfalls. Of course, the stations are spread across all 3500 memory locations here.

The sound is for a Flat absolutely fine. Language is clear and it deafened or croaks. That the sound comes slightly offset from the left or right, I can not judge. Stereoscopy is not a per se. But the sound is quite round and can in my family not to attract bad reviews.

I use the built-in WiFi capability to connect via Powernet time being. With only half the beam connection is unstable. Upstairs is because of the concrete ceiling but our laptop often not online. Thats life.
The Smart TV Fearures are up: useful to fully scrap. Everyone needs to decide whether he needs a bad-use directions on the TV.
UPDATE: I now finally be able to sync my Powerline adapter and thus the TV via LAN to the grid. In principle, nothing will change, but the connection is stable.

So far, all is well ...

Update February 9, 2013:
Since 4 days I try to register the TV. The necessary for mail just does not come. My 4 emails to Philips remain unanswered. "Service" is Schei .., because the mouse bites from no thread. I'm a little pissed off honestly.
After arrival of a Western Digital 500GB 2.5-inch drive I want to record the PVR mode. Who can describe my astonishment when this record is declared from the TV to be too slow. Multiple formats and nothing is happening.
Well, A proven Platinum MYDRIVE 500GB ordered and this time klappts. So start the EPG .... and wait, wait, wait. Aha, because the list is finite. Schick looks she, unfortunately no information on ARD HD ...

My programmed test shots are partly to identify the name, partly marked with transmitters. Recorded: yesterday and today ... how brilliant! Movie started, the works. Time to start fast forward film that goes at about twice the speed, nothing more. Oh Man.
By the way I know what my other reviewers with slow menus. Until EPG, PVR may start times are partly minutes watching this entertaining animation ball ... Busy, please wait. That makes no real mood. Info: Yes, the Internet connection is stable and fast enough (104 MPs).

Attempt a broadcast on ARD HD record them with the red record button (DIGITAL!): Analogue broadcasts can not have USB RECORDED it says. I am perplexed once again this morning. Aha, analog. But plays almost no role, this PVR is half-baked scrap, nothing more.
Since the required connection is forced into the net just the icing on the disaster.
Especially since even this has its pitfalls. My attempt to get an info about the program failed because I had no rights access this page. Even matter.
From yesterday to today, a movie title of "Star Wars - Attack of the Clones" was changed to "Pro 7" converted. Since one knows the same about it.

Philips Man, what have you sobered me! The brief upsurge to pack all the stuff and send it back I have suppressed. The others (Samsung, Sony) and abilities no better as I was allowed to read in relevant forums.
So a Technisat receiver will have to move in. Since PVR is a dream. EPG in 0.1 second on the screen, rapid leaves that choice is taken with adjustable caster and before reliable with names and date and can be viewed anytime during recording from the beginning. Fast forwards and back with different speeds and is not to drive to crash. Something I would have also welcomed by Philips.

Conclusion: will use the TV as a monitor for a brilliant Technisat S1. The display is at liberty top notch. Smart TV is working fine in tolerable speed. Max cathedrals etc. no problem.

Then it sad: EPG super lame, incomplete. PVR: a miserable unreliable and rudimentary construction. This is not fun. The critique of the oft-quoted Internet compulsion for these functions I join hereby unconditionally. This is absolute bullshit and a real negative selling point of Philips.
Oh yes, the service is also crap.

2/10/2013 And nochn poem:

Had the canal this morning at breakfast but then fully. Still no movement at Philips.
Now there's 40 incher that I can use a perfectly Technisat receiver for the money. In Real prospectus itself offers the Samsung UE40EH5200 to 399. I'll pick tomorrow.
So requested return form, brought the box from memory and tomorrow the part goes back home.
