Every Tocotronic album is something special, but "Tocotronic" is not only the biggest upheaval in the band's history, but also the (previous) peak. The details are as follows: 1. "This Boy Is Tocotronic": And it rocks but. A great introductory piece, as it announces that now comes something new. In his passion, it goes very direction "Pure Reason ..." 2. "Everything is on fire": a little quieter, but another fantastic love song in the tradition of all Tocotronic love songs. Mercilessly to self-sacrifice, full of desire and passion. 3. "Here is the proof": a dreamy, defiant song. "These guys are different as we know." Yes, we know. 4. "Hi Freaks": maybe one of the best songs of all time, without question, the highlight of this album. Epic, great, wonderful texted, perfectly composed. This is simply a matter of all or nothing. 5. "Lead me gently": again a call for passion with grandiose guitar and drum use and great finale. 6. "Free Hospital": certainly no quick piece, but if it starts first let it go a little. The musical realization of satisfaction. 7. "The evil book": pathfinding? Love song? Inventory? Or all together? I suppose love song. 8. "Closer to you": the title suggests, the already, a very pure love song or a song about the moment before it is large. Or is that then the greatest moment? 9. "shadow cast no shadows": again a love song, what does not matter, because Tocotronic make love songs that are beyond any love songs tradition. Soghaftere and more tender texts one hears rarely. 10. "Urgency is always": the music drives the voice is slow and brings yet again everything this band makes the denominator: passion, self-sacrifice, desire. 11. "The cloud of ignorance": the second best song of the plate, of almost unbearable beauty, the music slowly builds a tension that dissolves in a gentle explosion, overlaid by Dirk von Lotzows about snapping voice and text, the merciless one proposes in its spell. So it illustrates feelings. 12. "Drama": Well, the instrumental piece seems a bit redundant, but is still nice to listen to. It sounds at least not for something, what the title suggests. 13. "New from Tricksters" looks almost like a look back at this album, or even to all albums and that "one to one" now is over, does say everything you have to say about Tocotronics new direction. A flawless masterpiece.
