1. Processing:
After unpacking immediately notice the glossy white enclosure eye. The casing is very stable and has rubber feet which reduce vibration. It is easy to open and there are no gaps. Only the somewhat large transformer and the plastic case detract from the impression of something (s. Photos). Yet there is this 4.5 / 5 Stars.
2. Commissioning:
The panels are easy to install, only a screwdriver is required. Everything fits perfectly and nothing wobbles. The disks are mounted on rubber mounts. Commissioning is possible thanks guided wizard without any problems. Thus, the NAS is ready for use after a few minutes. Nevertheless, a lot of time has to be invested, since the scope of possible functions is very large indeed. But this is a positive to evaluate because there is also a separate DSM Help and gives helpful instructions on the Internet at all possibilities. For this 5/5 stars.
3. Operation:
As already described in the above item falls onto the flexible DSM operating system. There remain nothing to be desired, especially not for normal users who want a private cloud. For me, the integrated USB 3.0 port, the power-saving features and the sophisticated rights and user management are important. Also on the Smart TV'S stream the content easily. Generally there are no problems in detecting the Synology. Thanks planned on and off, and the Wake on LAN feature is also the consumption-to-date. To upload or download rate I did not test, but they are reasonable. To upload various folders and files on average 23 Mb / s through the USB3.0 port even 45-50Mb / s. The operating sound is not too loud, but for the bedroom, it would be nothing;). This is sufficient for home use. It could not have any other functions but are tested the operation gets 5/5 stars.

The Synology DS215j is a great entry-Nas which with its price of 180 provides sufficient power for households. Despite the price, there is no compromising on functionality and performance. Who is looking for a great NAS, can strike bedenkenslos! Strong buy recommendation

After prolonged use of the Synology Disk Station there are a few more points that I want to address.
WOL works out of the home network properly and without problems. Only a wakeup on the Internet is a little more difficult because of port clearances, Fritzbox, DNS, etc.. For this reason, this feature of mine has been disabled, but it is possible to use them. Accesses to the data of mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) thanks to the many apps work fine. Thanks to the Quick Connect feature does not even need to set up DDNS to access from the Internet. The 5 star I would give it back! If you have further questions just comment here :)
