+++ +++ Positive
Design and Housing:
One of the best devices from HTC and thus finally a worthy replacement for the HTC Desire. I also find the speaker very good, definitely better than the Desire and other smart phones and a lot more you can with such a thin, small device do not expect too. So you can be nice to put in the tram and hear loud Bushido ... when Bock has it.
My cover for the back also did not rattle and the gaps are good. So I bought just one and no problems in the processing, I think most buyers are satisfied write here no assessment pure. The voice quality is with me as well as the Desire, so just okay and nothing special, the devices are as least likely to blame problems, but the networks or even the caller / callee. A positive feature is that I can make it louder than the Desire and this is very important for some people.
The official bag of HTC (PO S740) fits wonderfully Notwithstanding any other reviews. Unfortunately you have to import them from England at the moment.
Camera:
Featured pictures and also videos in HD, both at once possible and all without shutter lag, just wonderful. If I was picky I'd complain about the fact that the autofocus sometimes needs a little bit until it achieves focus for close-ups.
Software and performance:
The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 is currently probably the fastest thing there is, it is usually even faster than the quad core CPUs in much more expensive devices. HTC Sense provides usual quality with many small improvements and so fluid that you will be perfectly happy with it (up to the aufändigsten games). An Android 4.0 with its new 3 buttons and Menu button missing you have to get used to, but that has nothing directly to do with the ONE S.
A bug has the ONE S currently, it loses standby often the Wi-Fi connection and HTC is having to put out an update. Some apps, such as the Dolphin Browser Mini also have small problems with Android 4.0, but that will certainly put the time.
Battery performance:
I've never changed the battery in my Desire, hence the permanently installed battery is totally not matter to me and if you heavily use the device keeps it anyway through the day, with little use of one creates even 3 days and so it exceeds the Desire. Clear for 100 more would HTC also what can build stronger, but the ONE S is fully okay for a smartphone in any case and there are very few devices on the market that are a little bit better.
HDMI connection to the TV / TFT with MHL adapter:
I tested the HTC 490er MHL adapter for Sensation / EVO 3D with ONE S and it works beautifully, even without an extra power cord. However, it really only works in 1920x1080er resolution, so only 16: 9 = 1080p and NOT 16:10 = 1920x1200 resolution. You can change the resolution does not change, but that should for 90% of all users indeed be a problem. If you have connected it runs it in landscape mode and you can play with everything and look like on the device itself without any lag, really great.
+++ +++ Neutral
Display:
There probably the only slight drawback with which one just can either arrange or not. On the one hand has the Amoled display wonderful contrasts and colors, is really (relatively speaking!) Very well read in sunlight because of the good brightness values and then there's this Pentile matrix. My parents can not recognize and many people whose eyes are not so super well be that never able to perceive, I, however, can see very well, and if I just look there, I see the slight pixelation at small font already, but I have to look very closely and use the normal and browse the phone I did not fall on the. The advantages of contrasts, black levels and brilliant colors predominate here by far and therefore I do not bitches via the display rum.
Memory:
So far I had only an 8GB SD card with a little less free space due to the ext4 partition for the ROM, but that was enough in my Desire. With the expanded DLNA or HDMI capabilities of ONE S itself offers more memory, the device has about 10GB free for films and so many MKVs particularly since you will not be able to save it if you still want a bit of music. The 23GB Dropbox storage are quite nice, but first, a data protection course very worrying for some, and secondly, with intensive use of course only in the WLAN usable. In addition, current data transfer rates are still a big bottleneck. If, like me for example, the train from Leipzig to Erfurt through the Thuringian countryside you drive will have no fun trying to time to watch a movie or even photos just on the edge or even GSM connection crashing even all five minutes because the next radio mast in reach. All in all, would have been an SD card slot really great and if the device would be 1mm thick for me would not even disturb or HTC should have installed the same 32GB.
What is positive even when memory is perfectly adequate place of 'internal memory, which is about 2GB big enough for everything, so that you can not even have to outsource some of the "SD card" partition. Many people wonder why I now certainly something specially mentioned, because only owners of the HTC Desire will really understand how cruel it is, if the manufacturer installs insufficient memory and in spite APP2SD has not even enough space for applications, because even small residues of 1MB total too much. Every Desire is the owner know and is therefore actually still very mad at HTC. With the ONE S is again well done, at least for me.
+++ +++ Negative
Even after intense thought comes to mind, a nothing, I give the device therefore 5/5 stars because it's really wonderful for me.
