Since the altitude (lens bottom edge is about image bottom) and the distance (image size is determined by the distance from the screen produces), depending on the desired image width, in which LG PA1000T Portable LED projector requires certain compromises, it was for us not simply a viable home theater to find solution.
Ultimately, we decided to put the projector centered on our generously deep windowsill. To adjusts the altitude, and image height, perfect for a cinematic experience from our chairs out.
Also to use a tripod for the projector would have been a possibility; but must be cleared again, what about the window bench is not the case. Here comes the beamer after cooling just back in the supplied bag and retains its stand.
It was quite a already getting used to the sound, depending on the chair / seat position, so now comes back from behind either the right or left. But we quickly accustomed, especially because the sound quality, which provides the equipment, for us is quite passable, and the device really does its work very quietly.
Since we do not have a sufficiently large white wall that could serve as a projection screen and also see our seating even in the middle of the room, we have a pull-out screen at a distance of 3 meters to the window sill, or position of the projector, done and attached to the ceiling.
To connect the projector we use an HDMI cable, 10m 3-fold shielding, which is connected to the HDMI output of the laptop. The projector switch; ready in about 5 seconds; and HDMI input on the projector and the PC select the HDMI output and DVD launch.
For TV, we simply connect the laptop to the place (in our case, Internet) receiver, also via HDMI.
It's probably due to the price and it works and you get a sharp image, but the adjustment dial for the sharpness is kept plastic and very easy, which is not exactly easy makes a fine adjustment. Mechanically the also the only criticism.
It should be noted would be that the external power supply has no place in the bag supplied. Here, the size advantage of the great little unit puts something back because a pannier of course should also provide space for accessories.
It is initially a bit overwhelming (if one is used to average TV), a bit like in the movies in the first row, you look at a picture that 200 x 120 measures. But you get used to it, begins even faster to really enjoy and will soon no longer have otherwise.
