Until now technically in Ordung. I run so an old VGA TFT on my Macbook Air 13 Mid 2012 was set up without any problems. By the very stiff, short cables but arises on the side of laptop, after you connect the VGA connector a thoroughly "chunky" construction on the one hand has a mechanical stress to the Thunderbolt port to follow and on the other hand just taking up space.
