Very good workmanship, fit perfectly, pretty handy!

Function handles I have my D7100 and Lumix GH3. These are not originals, but there's nothing to complain about.
When A7R There are (still) not cheap imitations, which usually costs around 70, so I was looking for a cheap deal, because 200 euros and more is just too much.
I found what I'm in the bay and could bid on a whole new part of private for 130 euros, but there are also what the dealer from 149th I beobachet the market over several weeks and there is almost always deals in 150th

I find this auxiliary handles abolut not necessary, but very practical, eg for portrait or vertical panorama, architecture etc.
Additional benefits include
- Double battery autonomy
- Better stability of the camera
- You can change the batteries without the cam to take the stand (lateral access).
Disadvantages are
- Higher .Weight and space requirements

BATTERIES autonomy
The batteries of the A7 / A7R empty rapidly fast!
In addition to 3 original NP-NW50 (which also do service in the A6000 and RX10) ich.2 use replacement batteries of Baxxtar. With charger they cost 49.90 (ASIN: B007U1WSP2).
This is a very practical and cost-effective solution, because it does not have to load it into the camera and has always sufficient energy reserves.
With the auxiliary handle is joined 2 batteries, which are successively emptied automatically.
The battery exchange is very simple et goes as fast as without auxiliary handle.
The attachment and detachment takes a few seconds longer, because you have to rotate the two screw.
A storage bag is not included.

When installing a video on YouTube was very helpful, especially with regard to the decomposition and conversion of the lid of the battery compartment.
Search for: Sony A7 / A7R Battery Grip Review VG C1EM. The trick: Move the small lever on the inside of the lid side.

Weight and stability
The VG-C1EM has an excellent quality and fit. Most of it is plastic but with high quality and the surfaces are absolutely harmonious with the A7. The grained paneling is very grippy and the bulge below you have the camera well in hand. This is also important because the fight weight is with a lens like the 18-105 f / 4 G OSS exactly 1,200 gr.

The higher weight and the extra grip the camera is quiet .. That's not necessarily much, but if can increase the shutter speed from 1/30 to 1/20 or 1/15 in borderline situation by which may be of importance,
The closure of A7R is very noisy, you could have the impression that the camera is about to dismantle itself. It is quite possible that the auxiliary handle helps to reduce camera shake.

Everything funktionniert easily.

Some criticize that the auxiliary handle is supplied without extra batteries. That's always the case.
If you buy an apartment, the refrigerator is not full. But it is of course understood that in the list price, the desire may arise.
In addition, there are many people, like me, who already have batteries and do not want to zahllen another hundred euros for original batteries when one equivalent of approx. Can buy 1/4.

VALUE FOR MONEY
Clear that for 300 euros, the part is overpriced. But at 130 for an absolutely as good as new part, I am satisfied and would buy it again at any time. Once again, the quality is superb, the fit perfect and operating properly.
