Packaging Design
The Series 9000 is indeed quite high-priced. This is reflected in many details not again. For example the packaging. Outwardly she praises me too gaudy to the merits of the shaver. Inside one encounters a tangled pile of brown cardboard boxes. Best enjoyed with the membership card with even the presentation of the Quick Start Guide.
When packing one should even look outside the box. For Apple, there is a good example of an iconic packaging. Simple layout. After opening the first one comes to the product, then click the accessories.
Design
The design of the Series 9000 is very good. The black screen with chrome trim is very appealing. The ergonomics and fit. The grip of the rear rubber is very pleasant. The dimming effects on the displays of Rasieapparats and the cleaning station are cool.
The cleaning station ... difficult. For us it is called only "The Bucket". To my mind it is too large. The design is with the shaver too little pretext. Apart from the black display area, there is neither the material (eg, chrome trim) in the form (truncated / geometrically freeform) a relationship. Substituting now the shaver into the cleaning station it is really bad. The shaver shows me his less attractive back and upside down!
If the Series 9000 the best of the best to be (tell me the price ...), then it must be presented pretty me every day! He should properly stand around with its attractive front in a charging cradle, ready for immediate use.
The bucket is nowhere really a place: mirrored wardrobe - too big, bathroom shelf - too high, vanity - woman, however, etc.
The travel bag I really like but what to do with the power supply? What to do with the long-hair cutter? As I wrap on the cable of Netzteis? In my old Philishave it was a coiled cable, which clench. By a unit PSU weggespart ...
Function
At shaving performance in Series 9 there in my opinion purely auszustetzen nothing. Wet, dry, that has everything worked wonderfully during the trial period. I even dare to say that the Series 9 is ever in this respect the best Philishave.
The cleaning power of the base station I was also satisfied. However, the shaving head after cleaning was so strong degreased that he slipped significantly heavier in the first two shaves through the skin. So for me, not for everyday use.
There is my hand to function a few criticisms: The sound of the razor is indeed pleasantly quiet, but reminds me with the greatest level of a dentist's drill with negative associations.
To replace the shaving heads a tool is necessary. This went on my last Philishave still without. Where should I keep this thing? In the huge base station no trade or similar is provided. The same applies to the beard trimmer. The flies around too loosely. A replacement for my actual beard trimmer it is unfortunately not. The operation is easy to frimelig me.
When replacing the shaving head against the beard trimmer one is tempted to unscrew the shaving head. This takes the shaver permanently does matter, which is why initially warns a label in front of it. Here the function is clearly against the expectations of the user.
Finally, the largest no-go: If charging cable connected on strike the razor! Especially if one is in the highest time pressure, the apparatus must be loaded five minutes. I can not stand it when a product will be smarter than me. I would not guarantee the idea to charge the shaver in the shower. Also went smoothly with the old apparatus. And I wonder if the Series 9 also adjusts his service if he thinks the shaving heads have to be changed. Should the occurrence, he flies out of the window in a high arc. A business model like printers I will not let impress me.
Conclusion
The Series 9 is really good. Some details intrude on high level, however, the price is also high.
I'll keep the Series 9 after the test, however, would not buy it with my test experience for the full price. Approximately 200 for the unit without cleaning station are my pain threshold.
