Jinxed! is in itself a very nice game, but it is difficult to explain or to describe so that you can really understand where the excitement and fun of this game is.
But let's start at the beginning: jinxed! is a game of Alea Publishing. Alea is commonly for good, challenging, complex games, which unfortunately are very abstract in many cases. For a game of this series is jinxed! quite a lightweight, has little strategic opportunities, is less predictable. But it is a very nice and Bluff- trouble game that has managed from the first game to to this day to be one of my favorite games.
In jinxed! Is it primarily about Potions. There are three different kinds of drink. Each potion needs different ingredients (symbolized by white, green and red wooden blocks). So you need to be able to brew these ingredients to the potion. Money is involved and available to it in against raw materials, or so to brew smaller potions.
Each player gets 12 cards assigned. On these maps different people are displayed. Each of these people helps one get to these potions, which bring victory points. Three People bring raw materials, one for white, green and yellow. Another offers the opportunity for a money can buy any three commodities, another makes any commodity to five money. Another person can use a money order two small potions to brew (so easy to get two victory points) Three people can brew potions. There are always three stacks of drink tickets, the ads which raw materials are used to brew the potion. Starting with a raw material that is needed when multiple potions were used, more and more ingredients. Finally, there are also character cards that allow to brew with the money or the ingredients of players potions also ausliegen as maps.
A round is then carried out so that each player has a complete set with all 12 delegates. From these you then selects 5 people. The oldest player starts and chooses one of these five cards from people, places it in front of him and says, "I am (for example) Wolli". If he really is Wolli, he would get three red ingredients. But it's never good to yourself first must place a card to use the characteristics of a person can.
For now the clockwise next player must say whether among his five selected cards also Wolli is or not. Did he Wolli not obvious he simply says "Do I believe you, you're Wolli" and the next player has to say whether he has this card in his hand. Has any other player the card in his hand, so the first player actually Wolli and gets its three ingredients.
Has now but another player (for example the last), the map also on hand, he must show them and can say that it really is Wolli. Thus, the first player has had bad luck goes completely empty-handed and the last player gets the ingredients.
It becomes interesting when you eg with five players playing and already the second player also Wolli has on hand. This is now in a quandary. He must play the card. He says now he is Wolli, there is a danger that also Wolli has one of three players in the hand, in the worst case all. Have four players the card in his hand and say all they were Wolli so gets only the last player something, all others go completely empty-handed.
Now, each card has a second half, the so-called "So be it!" Half. If a player, for example, the second player also Wolli on hand so he can interpret it and say so be it! followed by the rest of the text, of a highly watered down version of the main feature is for most people. For example Wolli likely to take an ingredient, rather than three. This gets you but surely, even if the player näcshte Wolli reveals and says he is Wolli.
Thus, one always faces a tricky decision. Is it greedy and tries to get the maximum benefit? Or one is humble and says So be it! Has afterwards no player more the character card on the hand offend you, of course. If another but it is obvious annoys you too. As you can see, the game lives primarily from the Schadenfreude.
Really, it is not planned, because you can not know which to select five cards the other.
While you can try to see what they have raw materials for inspection on and what probably make the most sense and then try to take the VLT one even other maps. not bring soo much that you would be likely to get through, but even that is not certain. Here then comes the "I think that he thinks that I think he does it so I think I prefer the do 'factor into play in which one is often even outwitted and then completely puzzled, why exactly this Players this selected one person.
The game is in 30 - played for 45 minutes and thus an excellent nightcap after demanding, very challenging games, or acuh easy when you still feel like another game, has the evening but forangeschritten too far to to something really great to play, you also do not feel like a short 15 minutes game has. One can indeed relatively little planning and it is primarily a Bluff-, Ärger- and Einschätzspiel but without heeding a little on players and to get a few thoughts on the card selection there is no real chance of winning.
If you play the game with new players offering it yet, easy to make in the first round mix all of their cards and draw five pieces in order to play the first round, because it is the easiest way understands the game principle and then in the second round has a basis on which to select their cards.
The game was so far in each round very good, both at great strategist as well as frequent players. You should be at least four of us, better to fifth. Who has the Alea Treasure Chest and six people are available, should in this line have the most fun, unfortunately I could not test this. Speaking of testing, if I made it in this review, halfway bewitched the spirit of How! convey and make a little curious, I strongly recommend to test this game times. It is worth it. It is one of the few games in which I'm sure still like to play in years and which I will certainly never sell.
