The SAT> IP market is still new, the number of available standalone receivers currently relatively clear. Actually, all equipment should be compatible with each other, in practice there are still difficulties. I use a resurrected at Amazon Telestar Digibit R1 SAT> IP server, a first attempt with the Kathrein UFS 906 went frustran (the software does not seem to be fully developed and designed for use with the Kathrein own server). Software solutions for Android, or Windows run smoothly, however, what has prompted me to try the Triax IP-100, since it at least on the official SES Astra-page as certified or is out compatible.
After the first power of the shock: The unit can not connect to my wired network. Alternatively, W-Lan is offered, this is but forgot to point out that a separately purchased wireless stick must be plugged. The latter variant I did not test in the absence of such hardware.
A quick research showed that there is a newer firmware problems with Gigabit Lan fix. So drawn from the manufacturer's website, the instructions copied according to a USB stick and the IP-100 updated Behold, now he finds the cable network.
Even the SAT> IP server will be found immediately. The tuning designed easily, initially not all stations are found. In a second attempt, I have a full search is performed, not only the preset transponders are used, and all I had expected was now there.
Sorting the channel list turns out then extremely uncomfortable. It is not clear why it hardly creates a manufacturer, simplify this procedure for miserable. Well, ultimately, to do that not so often, so it is to get over. The channel list can incidentally be saved on a USB stick and then is a ".db" before; Unfortunately I have no idea how and whether one can edit on the computer - this would certainly simplify a lot.
In operation, the fan-less receiver is quite warm, as remains to be seen how long he holds before the first components to heat death die. The processing is positively formulated favorable, the remote smell after unpacking reasonable China plastic. The menu is simple, pretty, places to translation errors or upheavals find the middle of the word. All in all, you get no premium product experience - I had but did not expect it.
The switching between the transmitters are good for my (former cable television and CI module infested) sense. Occasionally one hears after zapping a short crack in the clay. The picture quality is suffizient but just comes not in SD to the above Kathrein Receiver zoom (which on the other hand, unfortunately, constantly crashes).
A big drawback is that X-1000 AV Receiver image and sound out of sync during operation on my Denon eventually. This can leave only by constituting the AV receiver and the signal loops through. Unfortunately I can not say whether this is a specific problem of my AV receiver or other products are affected in the absence of comparison. 1)
Recordings on USB are not possible in delivery status, which is to be retrofitted but (-Buy) may, without which I had previously sat down thus further apart.
Crashes or the like I had a few days of operation does not, it should because problems occur, I will nachbereichten here. 2)
In summary it can be said that one gets a robust receiver the reasonably fit for the TV shows in the above configuration. Many problems could certainly be resolved with firmware updates, but I did not have any experience with Triax and also do not expect anything. For my purposes it is enough described, in the meantime, I'm waiting for better receivers to hit the market. I have the device for
Update 08/04/2014:
1) The problem with asynchronous sound I'm going. In AV receiver I have an option, the Auto Lip-Sync is called. Enabled and so far no more asynchronicities.
2) In rare cases, cause the receiver, the message "No Signal" displays, even though the referring stations running. Pretty weird. The message can not "push away". Since only helps off and on again. As it happens really rare to get over so far.
