Target inputs and route planning done completely intuitive. What I particularly appreciate, is entering a POI by entering the city. For example, Munich, Hotel xxx and off you go. When I found the Garmin navigation for POIs significantly more complicated, in some cases, I've even given up.
The acoustic route guidance is clearly more comfortable in Becker for my taste. There come one or two notes less than the Garmin, which I already found the frequency almost as slobbering. Second annoying when Garmin the name simple country roads with their numbers: In x meters turn right onto the ST 2345. If you've heard that three times, you wonder why you do to the. The Becker-Navi are in the same place, however, only the decision, to turn in meters x the right. (Street names and numbers of the trunk roads and motorways are naturally already announced by Becker.)
As already criticized by other reviewers, bothered me after a while when the Garmin strange, in Switzerland also sometimes incomprehensible pronunciation of street names (from Bluemlisalp was Blu-Emli -salp!) And often wrong-writing the record. When Becker there is nothing to complain about here. Amazingly compared.
Very helpful I find the Becker automatic enlargement of map detail at changes in direction. When turning in of federal highways there ever some surprising road guides. While the perspective not changed at Garmin, and thus remains a line in the landscape, help zooming in Becker and closeup on the crossing and surroundings very good at orientation.
Even the color of the graphical user interface at Garmin's too colorful to comically overburdened as another reviewer described already. I had also always in the 3D view, the feeling that I had the Navi actually a vertical position, because I stayed up or forward to little guidance. On both counts, Becker has found a better solution.
Compared to the Garmin Becker gives me a lot more adjustment possibilities for individualization of appearance and functionality. On the differences in the speed alarm, for example, has been already sufficiently pointed.
Much better at Garmin does the voice input. That works super reliable straight away. When Becker the device seems to have a learning curve. Cities and roads that you have ever driven, are recognized fairly reliable. However, new destinations hook. So I have in several attempts partout can not achieve meaningful recognition of food, Künzel Street. Therefore a star deduction.
All in all, the device comes from Becker my needs and desires against the best. Soon we are traveling for a long time by France and England. Negative or very positive experiences there is an addendum.
Addendum dated 28.8.
The device has very reliable piloted us to the respective day trips by England and France. False readings could be traced back in retrospect on incorrect operation. You have to learn the device and the settings just know their effects only once. Very good, the display of alternative routes when planning a stage has proved. What did not work satisfactorily, was the TMC service in England. We stood there a few times in traffic, without the device would have to be reported. Whether it is on the device or the TMC service in England, I do not know. Nevertheless, we do not want to miss the Navi.
