I had a Raspberry Pi Model B 1 as a media center in use and was never really satisfied with the performance of this application. The Raspberry PI 2 has enough power reserves to a Media Center to run smoothly and pleasantly by its four cores. It can even applications running in the background without slowing down will be adversely affected.
The step to the four cores was a good decision and opened the Raspberry finally challenging task fields that he could accomplish more bad than good in the old models.
