The Voyager Legend UC comes with the same characteristics as the non-UC variant, but also brings in:
+ Micro-USB cable with a small attachment adapter microUSB on the magnetic connection of the headset
+ Extra Bluetooth adapter for the PC (more on that below)
+ Carry-box with built-in battery for transporting the headset + BT Adapter
This box can the headset allegedly twice the go recharge (and also fits in a ladies handbag :)
+ Ingenious USB docking station for your desk, in the headset snaps with the magnetic closure - looks elegant, makes sense!
The sound quality of the headset is quite good, however, the device language has been optimized out to bring over well understood even under difficult conditions; it is totally unsuitable for music. The microphone can convince with crystal clear sound.
It is possible that device "mate" with two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. The active device (incoming or outgoing call) is then routed to the headset each. The headset is not at the ear, the call remains on the handset. Taking the headset then later on, the call is automatically forwarded to the headset - It's really comfortable!
But here's the trick: with the enclosed special Bluetooth adapter creates the headset even a third connection (for PC) parallel!
One can therefore two cell phones and (!) Have a PC, for example with Skype or Lync connected simultaneously. More communicative freedom has no one else.
Although the headset looks pretty dominant, it feels comfortable, because it is very flexible.
For eyeglass wearers, the usual for "over-the-ear" devices restrictions apply. After 2-3 hours on the ear that thing can due to the eyeglass temple ever be annoying, but that's a matter of taste. For this one has the docking station and the "pick-up" function, so that the jug ears can save as much as possible yourself.
The headset is articulated way, with language, ie status messages (connection, battery, mute ...) and (if the phone supports it) and who is also the name of the caller is announced over the headset.
Of course you can also have the thing language use (eg to accept a call). That works out to the street because of the many noise but not as good as the promotional videos promise :)
Plantronics offers a web-based software for firmware updates and configuration software with which you can make various settings on the headset, for example change the language of announcements in German or even better "marry" the thing with Lync and Skype.
This software installs itself, unfortunately, once again in the Windows auto start, so that it is best again should conduct a small 'cleanup action' with the Microsoft Sysinternals (autoruns.exe) after installation.
In addition, Plantronics offers even charge the software "Vocalyst" on, with which one can do certain tasks on your smartphone even by voice control (eg, e-mails etc.) Here perhaps is still a lot of potential in it (I have these functions not tested) ,
One should in any case take time, and the confusing instructions to read to the end, because there the links to the various software packages are listed on the Plantronics website.
The headset comes in two versions: a version of Microsoft and non-Microsoft version. The offered B235-M (Part Number 87680-02) is the Microsoft version. Probably the main difference is, as usual, are just in the way, as Lync interprets the call answer button. With the M-variant will be in most cases on the safe side, especially since Linux is therefore likely to have no problems.
Conclusion:
The Voyager Legend UC offers an unprecedented range of functions, and also makes any sense!
All three Bluetooth connections simultaneously, voice control, splash protection, great accessories with Dock, long battery life and a solid audio quality (for language).
Although there is room for improvement, for example, the optional software package and when Musiktauglicheit, this set is the best currently available on the market Bluetooth packet.
