Lots of good, interesting or unusual photo motifs can not be planned. Although currently approach is no compact or bridge camera and the image quality of digital SLR cameras, you have such a "big" Equipment then not permanently here. In some situations, it is almost impossible even carry a DSLR with lenses. However, the TZ10 is a pretty fully equipped camera that even fits in your pocket - even if they then have a little bulge ;-) Anyway, you can take it everywhere and it manifests itself thanks to your very large focal length range of 25-300 (KB equivalent) extremely flexible. The performance is really good and fast enough for a compact. The menu is clear and easy to operate, all important functions are easily and quickly accessible via the keys. The version in the color "chocolate" is the way rubberized (know the seller is not often). She is so super comfortable to hold and is non-slip in a certain way, while the other colors are used to slippery / smooth and thus may slip out of your hand or pocket faster. Who has big hands or comes from the bulky DSLRs, which should take time this version times in any case, the hand and compare the feel, even if feeling better like normal colors.
The integrated GPS is the Trend feature and always incredibly useful functions for me. As in the car also, it will prevail even when the cameras ever - the TZ10 thus remains first future-proof. The GPS works well, but the camera needs after the start / Reactivate quite a while for the first position data acquisition. At the very least will always be displayed, has taken place in the period during which the last measured position and you can let the TZ10 continue measuring even in standby mode. So not very current, but the final positioning is used, where appropriate, wait, what also can be in a geotagging tool, Picasa or similar easily adapt later.
The optical zoom is easy to operate, the image stabilizer works very effectively. From macro to telephoto you remain flexible at all times with the motif design. The picture quality, however, is as always a double-edged sword. Images may not rushing straight in Stock Photography, thus disqualified as good as any compact camera from slightly higher ISO rates. The TZ10 is unfortunately not much better. For everyday use, the noise performance is absolutely okay and will be disturbingly visible in any way in the full-length or on printouts. In stock photography, where the images are tested in 100% view, which is somewhat different. The TZ10 produced at the lowest ISO value (ISO 80) relatively good and usable images. But already in the next ISO levels attracts unpleasant noise into an image, the images from ISO 200 or 400 are just very noisy. Here I would have liked a TZ10 with an 8 MP sensor, which would provide much better pictures at the present state of the art. But probably there are still customers who believe that a 12 megapixel camera automatically makes better pictures than one with 8 MP.
Conclusion: The TZ10 is a fully equipped camera that is always with you may have and flexible with its focal length range, excellent image stabilization, GPS, etc. everything what the discerning photographer wants. If we remain at the lowest possible ISO value, then the images can be used even in the Stock Photography. For all other the TZ10 is an excellent travel and take-along-have camera. Even as a second camera for DSLR is perfect if one is aware that they can deliver as an entry-level DSLR ever and not even close to a comparable image quality, freedom from noise and per-pixel Sharpness. Those who expect more here forcibly disappointed, then what is not, however, to the camera, but in the wrong expectations. A little annoying, I feel the comparatively short battery life, which again significantly decreases the use of GPS - a second battery we here almost a duty. The use of a proprietary USB connector forces the consumer to use the Panasonic cable and includes any normal standard cable - an impertinence, also technically completely unnecessary.
The Panasonic TZ10 is at the end of an absolutely recommendable and universal camera at such a camera completely met my expectations and makes it the ideal everyday companion (also as a second camera for DSLR).
