With teething problems ....

with the phone my wife is very satisfied. Touchscreen very good, plenty of functions (for normal users but already "overloaded"). Mp3 players very well, but unfortunately no folder navigation. Playlists must be created or maintained by just ID3Tag Artist / Album navigate. Listening has a really decent quality.

Very good voice quality. Standby ok. Phone is very difficult. If you know when the "normal phone" on
the touchscreen umsteigt. I recommend to protect the rubber boot. This is really fit and a super protective.

Sticking point was the Navi! How do I read have a lot of Nokia 5230 - owners here problems. On the side of the Nokia Mapinstaller is 3:04 AND 3:03 recommended for 5230. I had first 3:04 installed. The transfer of voice and Navigation packages is with Ovi - a breeze Suite. This is in my opinion really very mature and intuitive. The Navi needs for now Fixing indeed long (about 10 minutes for me) but then it finds the satellites much faster. However: the Navi breaks off after about 1 minute, if you connect to the network does not (online). Since I use prepaid I wanted to avoid the costs online. In Navimenü I have connections with the A-GPS and Internet - stopped going Onlie / deselected.

The Nokia - Service could not help also. They gave me (after 3 messages) to 3:03 Mapinstaller recommended. This I had installed. However, the problem remained.

Solution to a desperate act: I have the firmware of handsets (vers.12.xxx) to version 20.xxx (with the Ovisuite goes very easy - now updated the Navi WITHOUT now goes abort if you do not go online !!! too. the navigation interface STARK has been improved with the new firmware !!!

So; Troubleshooting: Mobile phone fully charge and then - make firmware update via the Ovisuite! However, had a size of 137MB for my 5230. So nothing for people with analog or ISDN connection.

And my criticism of Nokia: why do the service for you is not that only a firmware update the phone resolves the problem ?! I myself have had several mails to the Nokia - Service and got written up in the Council with the Mapinstaller 3:03 no other pertinent information.

But now is so quiet and the Navi works offline without snags. God seis acknowledged. But only thanks to my stubbornness ...

Hope the new phones are then eventually shipped with the new firmware, otherwise the phone will be a non-starter. Can I not imagine namely that all new customers so stubbornly hold on, how I did it ...
