Solid shooter, but no more Max Payne

The game is as in the title already described a solid shooter with (mostly) good control (with a few bugs, such as when you go to cover, at the enemy then aims and Max but only at the ceiling ballert) and lots of action. The story is ok, but is well accompanied by graphic cutscenes and Max's monologue. The cut scenes are a matter of taste, but I find them well as they pass seamlessly into the game and make the story more vivid. However, one must be prepared that much playing time is occupied solely by the cutscenes. As I said, you have to like.
Action there is plenty, only here I come to the first point of criticism:
It becomes monotonous after a while. It remains in effect, always the same: run, cover, shoot, Slowmo shooting, cover. And sometimes die. Freedom of movement, there are, unfortunately not, and that is unfortunately the bad thing. I may return, for example, after a cutscene no longer in the room from which I came; So if you have previously forgotten to collect ammunition or to search for Golden Gun Parts has bad luck.
The difficulty level is ok, and it is sometimes quite are places that bring one to despair. For example, in Panama. Not because there are too many enemies, or you take the difficult opponents, but because there is only one coverage option, in which the opponent is, however, still always manage to meet you, without that one has given up the cover. I like challenges, but so what makes for frustration. I play it the way to medium target aid "soft".

The main point of criticism is, however, the atmosphere in the game.
As I said have played already MP1 and 2 and exactly I expected at this MP3 atmosphere. When I read that the game plays in Brazil I had my doubts. But have written many other players that nevertheless a grim "Film Noir" I have come up atmosphere bought the game. And was sadly disappointed on this point. Too obvious attempt the developer the players impose how miserable it is Max that he is an alcoholic and depressed by repeatedly showing him drinking and all with "shifted images" graphically try to accompany. That disappointed me, MP1 and 2 which have better solved for example by the numerous nightmares for example where Max had to navigate through an almost completely dark room, which was drenched with blood (. This main criticism brings the game for me, unfortunately, although on a quite solid shooter with lots of action and cool Bullet Time scenes, the lack of dark atmosphere and the nightmare scenes as in the first and second part leave the game fail successor but one worthy Max Payne.

PS: An amusing feature (typical Rockstar) is the TV series "The Adventures of baseball bat boy" with Bicycle Helmet Girl, which was even translated for the part in Brazil in Portuguese. Is worthwhile in any case, the TV turns on, whenever you see a. ;)
This small attention to detail makes me to bring the game to a total of 4 stars because it's not bad, but just not Max Payne more.
