After the initial bad reviews that has this machine, I had only doubts. This little machine has battery operation despite so much power that they can easily sew 4 layers thick denim (or one a pressed seam, the 1 time one turns on the hem). 6 layers thick denim she has managed, although you do then the vice ironed seam to create something (because you have to help out with sensitivity and exercise with drawing). It also takes a moment until you get the 6 layers under the needle. With 8 layers thick denim (not just some household sewing machine from the discount usually!) She gets on the thick side seam problems. There is then in front of the thick point Missed stitches, but she sews with move on. And it is very difficult to get 8 layers thick denim under the needle. But she has sewn it!
My advice:
- Even I as Nähprofi (I sew professionally and give sewing classes for beginners [...] took me to get to know the hand sewing machine 1.5 hours Beginners should schedule as much more time.!
- As is customary even in household sewing machines, you need only a beginner exercise to sew a straight seam.
- Who can sew on a household sewing machine, should also schedule time to practice because of dealing with this kind of sewing and only requires a little practice.
- Before sewing only on a scrap piece of fabric a test seam to make (that one makes at a household sewing machine), so you know whether you have to help the machine at special points on the fabric by pulling gently.
- The chain stitches sewing hand sewing machine, you do not get the material removed from the machine.
A little hint:
a) To sew on the fabric end addition, the secured yarn pull 15 cm long, cut and secure with hand needle the last chain stitch.
b) When the leg seams at the end leave the seam line, sew a few centimeters further and then, as in a) above. The Kettnaht to the desired location unravel again (simply pull on thread) and then back up.
My conclusion:
Remarkable small machine, which can be used for sewing up of pants perfectly (also in battery mode!). In moderate and thinner materials that is certainly better than using thick denim.
I'm going to buy the machine nor an adapter cable, so I do not use batteries.
