What you should know about the PET bottles

For our Sodastream model Cool we bought later this PET bottles. 3 are supplied gray bottle with matching closure. The 3 bottles are protected by a strong paper carton. It is, as is also apparent from the description out to 1 liter bottles. We have the bottles for 1.5 years in use.

If you already have a device Sodastream home knows the system. All others I would like to inform you in detail about the PET bottles. Maybe someone is here just before the decision to purchase a water bubbler with PET bottles or glass bottles to buy. First, one should note that the bottles at all fit for Sodastream device. The models are listed in the item description. Otherwise, the PET bottles do not fit into the models, which use glass carafes to gush.

The Sodastream PET bottles are all not dishwasher safe. Except for special dishwasher-safe PET bottles (more expensive). With this I have however made a bad experience. According to the manufacturer One must also not use hot water when cleaning. To clean the PET bottles, I recommend hot water, a baby bottle brush and a detergent. After cleaning, you get the PET bottles poorly dry. With us, the bottles are constantly in circulation, so it is not so bad. Otherwise you have just turned on the sink let stand until dry, or you put a whole kitchen towel in and tried it so ...

The rotary shutter opening and closing folds very easily. Nevertheless, one should carry his sparkling water always upright. How often the water is leaked to me in my pocket because I did not again turned down an extra tight. There are closing a thick rubber gasket that does not always prevent leakage. Unfortunately, there gathers behind the rubber seal also like minimal liquid. When cleaning is necessary to observe pinibel that this location is dry in the lid. We have thrown away some cover, because behind the rubber seal slight mold has settled. If this seal completely connected to the lid or at least rausnehmbar, there would not be this problem.

Each PET bottle of Sodastream also has an expiration date! This has even surprised me at first, but there are good reasons. It is indeed now time to plastic, and everyone knows that the material is affected by the carbon dioxide and the liquid eventually. So you will not forget the exchange. My here ordered from Amazon bottles were preserved always over 2 years. And because the bottles after 2 years look anyway no longer beautiful and very used, which is quite ok and priced manageable.

Particularly abrasion-resistant PET bottles of Sodastream are not. Frequent washing Scripture is abraded. It then looks for example, no longer the printed Wasserfülllinie or the expiration date. If you frequently transport the bottle in your pocket or backpack along with other things, they scratch and quickly lose their luster. They are dull and see for yourself somehow dirty after cleaning out.

The lower gray pedestal is glued. From the top you can see through the bottle to yellowish-acting adhesive. On the table is not just a looker (I do not mind, but it's worth mentioning). If the bottles remain in the rinsing water cleaned between base and plastic bottle back can also remove bad below the water remains. The water runs clean through 2 small holes and there must also back out.

By the way: What would be highly desirable if the manufacturer would bring here sometimes designerisch attractive bottles on the market. There are next to gray and white still colorful liter bottles. But there is no really beautiful motifs or pattern for 1 liter bottles. Had just nice to be next to the few colors also other had to choose from. Conclusion: Although my review has enumerated a lot of negative, the PET bottles are worth absolutely 4 star. They're just easy to have a large opening and are very firm. The bottles may fall on the tiles when filled easily because nothing gets broken. They also fit in my refrigerator door. Children can quarrels the bottles well. In a household with small children was and is my simple rather like the heavy glass bottles. They are also not as expensive as the glass carafes nachzukaufen for other devices. Because the PET bottles are still somewhat capable of revision and not perfect there's a star deduction. On the whole: Recommended!
