The first printer was broken, flash conversion by Amazon, Bravo!
Having now tested 3 printers (one from a friend), I came to the following conclusion:
1)
I do not know exactly how the people who look assessed a 1A print result, my 3 printers produce a frayed and poor print image using the supplied cartridges, 9mm yellow and white 12 mm. Only straight vertical and horizontal lines are fine once arches or italic fonts are applied fringes are visible with naked eye. By no means the printed image can be described as clean.
2)
As some are mentioned on both sides of labels each wasted about 1cm. This is annoying when you have limited space available and must re-cut by hand, on the other hand an expensive affair at the high price cassettes.
3)
The removal of the film on the back is a Fuselei, especially in narrow bands.
4)
The provided expert software v8.0.1 does not work with Mac OSX 10.9.4 (Mavericks). There are problems with the scaling of fonts, so the Light version must be used, but sufficient for normal labeling.
All in all a disappointment to the many positive reviews. Nevertheless, I keep the unit because I see no alternative. The tapes stick well and are smudge-proof.
