After nearly four years break Lenny Kravitz published 19 August 2011 his ninth studio album album 'Black in White America'. The first single gives an idea that there is more rock again. Kravitz owns the image of a womanizer but also a sensitive man and the animal can be to every now and then. However, you do not know much about this guy, except that he was married to actress Lisa Bonet and a child has with her. Now back to his new album. This was in Paris, his favorite city and taken up in the Bahamas, in his hometown. He produced almost the whole album again single-handedly until the song 'Drop Bongie' derived from Jay-Z and 'Sunflower' which was co-texted by Drake. Much of the instruments he played himself back. The album is influenced by the 60s and 70s rock music. Very rocky but also emotional, as one would expect from him .. His texts relate partly to his personal environment and racism plays a major issue. A real hangers like 'Fly Away' missing in this album, however, remain the title song 'Black in White America' or the decoupling 'state' in the head, when the music video is also amusing. Eben typical radio hit. The song 'Rock Star City Life' can remember the old rock numbers from him again.
In short, the new album includes rock, funk, soul and it grooves. Everything is of rock songs like 'Come on get it' to typical Lenny ballad 'I Can not Be Without You'. As the name says also just Black and White. Thus, he never heard even with 45 years to the scrap heap, that he does not reinvent the wheel, after 15 years in the music business, we is all clear, but he gave off a great album.
