I have created a video of the installation. In the video I show the unit, once lead all functions before and generally tell something. I hope that the video gives a good overview. I find such videos sometimes more useful than plain text reviews, so I combine my reviews like both. You can tell me that I was born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s, because I constantly tell CD when I get my record;) In fact, I myself have never owned a record player before, but only at the age of 10 years times a turntable my father played around, so I'm not an expert in this field. To try out, I then got myself a cheap Grönemeyer record in a thrift store. Funnily enough, this record has awakened many memories of my first girlfriend, who was a great Grönemeyer fan back then and made me in the first place with his knowledge.
But enough talk. For those who can not see the video or want here are the most important aspects:
* Processing *
Overall very good. It was real wood and real material processed, so that the box weighs quite a bit. The controls are made of plastic, but still grab good. The CD player is only a thin slide, but that's absolutely okay. Me personally bothers the blue screen a bit. A black screen, where you would be able to regulate the contrast of the writing would significantly great, in this price range but probably not feasible.
For transport by a screw was solved with a turntable, this has to screw before you listen to the first plate, otherwise the formwork panel leaps at the first track you absolutely. If the screw is tightened, everything works fine, though one must remove the safety cap on the needle.
In radio mode, two red LEDs on the display of the page, which also provides a nice nostalgic flair. Sorry, unfortunately there is no way the turntable to an amplifier to connect, but that is in compact systems also not common, so no big deal. If you want something, you have to set a corresponding turntable. For processing, there is the note 2 of me.
* Music playback *
The system can much: Radio, cassette, CD, MP3, record. That everything works perfectly. The records playback works well, you can 33, 45, set 78 revolutions, there is also a device for listening to Maxi records, automatic Armrückführung, great. It can also play burned CDs, you can select a random play or program different tracks. If one sound relatively quiet you can hear the running noise of the drive. If, a little louder drowned out the music the running noise. Playback of MP3 via USB stick works well in my test, and I will not use this feature. I also tried to connect to see if you can play the MP3s from the iPhone an iPhone. According to my expectations, it was not, you can not charge the iPhone via the USB port. Cartridge I have unfortunately no more, so I could not try this feature, as I've read in other reviews nothing negative I'm assuming that it works without any problems. And listening to old Three ???, TKKG or Bibi Blocksberg cassettes yes is back in fashion, it is very practical to have a tape deck integrated into such a sophisticated system.
* Recording function *
You can plug in an MP3 stick and then record the songs of formwork panels as MP3. If you want to digitize an entire formwork panel that is somewhat more complex. You have the MP3 stick definitely before recording use, because the system needs something to recognize him. Then it is best to each track individually, otherwise a continuous track is recorded. The quality is then about 128kb / sec and corresponds to the sound quality of some of that you get delivered directly from the plant. For people with huge record collections of this feature is to archive the old record collection definitely a very good way. On most boards gnawed unfortunately but the ravages of time.
* Sound quality *
Here you should, of course, do not expect miracles, it's just a small compact unit. If you want to right-fidelity you have to get a much more expensive turntables can to connect with his expensive hi-fi receiver. I find the sound of your system matches the charm of old boards and she is not even bad. As I said, nothing for HiFi purists, for the average Joe Anweder but absolutely fine.
* Other *
- Remote Control: The remote control is small and inconspicuous, as with equipment of this class common. Bring a little only in digital media (CD, MP3), with analog (record, tape deck, radio), it has no function.
- Service: The complex is located in a note on the will be asked to sit in front of a complaint with the manufacturer since many complaints are simply due to operating or assembly errors. I find very good that the manufacturer as so offensive with bypasses and shows that it is customer service at heart. Unfortunately, this is the exception rather
- Instructions: Very well written. Clearly structured, in a good and understandable German. So everyone should something can start and manage.

*** Conclusion ***
========
The Dual NR4 nostalgia plant keeps its promises. It is processed very valuable (real wood, real cloth !!) and conveys genuine fifties flair. Nevertheless it uses modern technology and allows play MP3s via USB stick and digitize old records or Mcd in a connected USB flash drive directly. This is handy and great. The sound quality is good and the portion is just an eye-catcher for you should already looking for a nice place. For me it is a Christmas present for my mother and I will in due course report as it finds the system. Until then I'll probably hold forth at flea markets looking for interesting records)
